At Oriental Teahouse, our aim is simple: to connect the dots between Chinese tradition and the contemporary Melbourne dining scene. Tea and yum cha are our thing, and nothing gives us more of a buzz than balancing authenticity with creativity. Sure, we offer all the classics, such as Shu Mai Dumplings and our BBQ Pork Buns, but we’re not afraid to serve juicy parcels stuffed with chilli wagyu beef or even white chocolate. They lost our order between the first & second orders of food & luckily I asked them after 25 minutes sitting there & they admitted a kitchen error had occurred. The food was good but the portions for the larger vegetarian dishes were not larger enough. They could have easily taken a amount off the bill for the mix up but chose not to….I wouldn’t go there again.

Really great tasting food, smaller portions than other Chinese restaurants - then again, this isn't your average Chinatown greasy spoon. The food is beautifully presented and really tasty and fresh.

Excellent customer service and waitresses were very attentive to our needs. Food came out within good timing between each set of food.

Everything was amazing, the food was so beautiful and cooked with love. Staff were all so kind and you could tell were happy to be there. We had a young waitress who looked after us that night and she was so sweet and was so helpful when we were trying to organise what to order to share. I couldn’t decide on a cocktail so one of the barmen came over and made something special for me. Overall everything was amazing and it was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday!

Our group of four dined at this restaurant recently after travelling down to Melbourne from Wollongong for a holiday. The food and service was outstanding. The dumplings were amazing (particularly the Wagyu ones) and there was plenty of variety on the menu This restaurant is a hidden gem. We will be back in the future. Repeatedly so!

The 'legit special fried rice' is really nice. Service was good and we loved the venue. Would go again.

I had a meal in Oriental tea House in November 2021 and enjoyed the meal. On this occasion I was disappointed. The duck dumplings were delicious but served with very tiny serve of sauce. Salt and pepper calamari were heavily battered and very oily-we needed to remove the batter crust to get at the pieces of calamari which were cooked well and was tender. But there was hardly any flavour to the dish. The roast belly pork was cooked well but again hardly any sauce so the dish was bland. Te fried rice was good

The food was great but more than that I would commend our waitress for the on point service. Post Covid, service levels have dropped and to have such an attentive (but not overally pushy) was really appreciated. 2nd time here, will be back
