Meaning “goldsmith” in Italian, Orafo brings a tradition of craftsmanship to every dish and cocktail while paying tribute to San Francisco’s Gold Rush past. Decent food and good ambiance but the service was lacking. Staff interrupted conversation regularly and food came out at different times for a larger party which meant many were waiting too long to start eating. Likely well not come back.

I recently dined at Orafo and was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service and the quality of the wine selection. The staff was attentive, professional, and truly made the experience enjoyable. However, I was a bit disappointed with the food, particularly the main dish. I ordered the fettuccini with shrimp (which normally comes with mixed seafood, but I requested only shrimp). While I appreciate the restaurant’s modern, local take on Italian cuisine, the dish missed the mark for me. The pasta felt unusual and lacked the traditional Italian flavor I was expecting. As a result, I couldn’t finish it, and my friend ended up eating it for me. I left still feeling hungry, which wasn’t ideal, especially considering the high price point. Overall, while the service was top-notch, the food didn’t meet my expectations for an Italian restaurant.

We had a wonderful 20th wedding anniversary dinner at Orafo! Food and drinks were delicious and the staff was amazing! Thank you for making our day so special!
