Named after Chef Francisco’s mother, Ophelia will specialize in authentic Mexican cuisine prepared with a refined, elevated approach.

“Given my strong connection to Mexican cuisine, we saw an opportunity to take advantage of my knowledge and passion and do something truly unique here in Olympic Village,” Higareda explains. “My mother inspired my love of cooking and it will be a true honour to return to my roots and pay homage to her and my country at Ophelia this spring.”

Ophelia will also offer a fully licenced bar serving handcrafted cocktails made with premium tequilas and mezcals, along with local and imported craft beers, and New- and Old-World wines.

Awesome good and cocktails still. The service was great with the right amount of check ins. Ambience has kind of deteriorated over the years going from a much more authentic and unique theme to a more typical one. Table set up was unfortunate. Our table was so close to a large part next to us that a kid from that party was basically leaving on our table, which was a bit much. Overall though still a great place.

Hi there, we (my two other girlfriends) really enjoyed our brunch last Sat. It was our first time visiting so the Mexican flavour was refreshing. We all voted the Ling Cod Tacos to be the most tasty, and not very spicy as forewarned. The Prawns and Scallops ceviche was light and refreshing, perfect lime broth. The Rib eye steak was nicely nicely done and portioned. We found as the spicy habanero sauce might be drizzled; bites of the guacamole and refried beans could become a bit bland but other bites could be explosively spicy! Overall, we had a great time, staff was friendly and helpful. Just that the parking situation has made us a bit nervous....thankfully the cost was actually affordable (happily dumbfounded). Thank you for a pleasant get together for us. Keep up the good work.

The poor service tonight really ruined our experience here. It took a long time for our waitress to acknowledge us. Our drinks took over 20 mins to get to us, so long that our food came out before our drinks. The food was okay but I was sad because I was celebrating my husband's birthday. We ended up not ordering dessert or more drinks and just went home instead.

We have frequent Opehlia's on many occasions, and never been disappointed. If you grave Mexican food you will not be disappointed.

Service was great , but I was a bit disappointed of the octopus dishes . I got attracted by their IG recommendations and went a head to give it a try . The octopus was very disappointing. I did not expected 3 skinny octopus legs. Pork belly was ok and skin was crunchy.

Thank you for such a lovely evening. Dinner was perfect, staff friendly and pleasant. I have dined twice in the last few months, both visits were spectacular, staff and food.

We made a reservation for my husband's birthday. Despite this and the fact that the restaurant was not very full, we were put in the back in an empty section right beside the noisy kitchen doors. We were also reminded we needed to be finished within 2 hours. We asked to move. While service was friendly and accommodating it was slow and it took almost 20 minutes for our first drinks to arrive. My husband ordered a skirt steak tortilla dish. The steak was incredibly tough (cut on the grain not against it). It was $45. We had to send it back. They removed it from our bill. When I made the reservation using open table, I'm indicated that it was for a birthday. The restaurant didn't seem to know that. We did not stay for desert. Overall, a disappointing birthday dinner.

Ophelia never disappoints. The food was fabulous and the service provided by our waitress from Mexico City (apologies for forgetting your name) was top notch. Definitely recommend.
