Named after Chef Francisco’s mother, Ophelia will specialize in authentic Mexican cuisine prepared with a refined, elevated approach.

“Given my strong connection to Mexican cuisine, we saw an opportunity to take advantage of my knowledge and passion and do something truly unique here in Olympic Village,” Higareda explains. “My mother inspired my love of cooking and it will be a true honour to return to my roots and pay homage to her and my country at Ophelia this spring.”

Ophelia will also offer a fully licenced bar serving handcrafted cocktails made with premium tequilas and mezcals, along with local and imported craft beers, and New- and Old-World wines.

They didn’t ask me how I wanted my steak cooked and it was totally raw, potatoes were bland and cold, service was bad - didn’t space out any of our portions and then didn’t check on us for anything. Price for the lack of quality was total rip off - ruined my valentines dinner

Ophelia was an absolute joy to dine at, the service was fantastic and accommodating to our substitutions on their pre-set Valentine’s Day menu. And as a foodie living in Vancouver I can honestly say that was one of the best meals I’ve ever had!

Wanted to bring my girlfriend here for valentine’s as I had come here before as I had great experiences however they definitely felt short this time. When we entered we had to wait a few minutes to be greeted, however once the host came over she was super sweet and helpful. However upon sitting we were disappointed with the service that we received. We only saw our server when she came to take our food and drink order and clear plates at the end.

We came for dine out but foods are really over seasonings and oily, server doesn’t seem happy when we’re not order any drink

Another fantastic visit that my boyfriend and I had last night. I ordered from the Dine Out Vancouver menu while he tried the steak appetizer and the octopus. Delicious food and amazing ambience. It’s worth every penny that’s spent. This is now my best spot in Vancouver.

Great food and great experience. The Rib Eye steak was outstanding. Celebrated my wife's birthday there. Will be sure to come back again in the near future.
