Standing out from the crowd, our 400-seater restaurant is housed in a grand Grade II listed building featuring a distinct neoclassical Greek façade and mixes an industrial look with a touch of opulence inside. Opera Grill brings theatre on a grand scale to Chester. At the heart of our menu is the theatre charcoal grill and wood-burning ovens, inspired by revered chefs and restaurants from around the world. The entertainment continues in a first-floor Music Gallery featuring a stage set for live acts every Friday, and a mix of soulful classics performed by our gospel choir every Sunday.
The distinctive spaces in Opera Grill are all available for hire for meetings, conferences and special events with bespoke menus and entertainment packages.

We have limited disabled access, the 1st floor and terrace is not wheelchair accessible.

    We booked this restaurant based on a recommendation, and as it was our honeymoon weekend, we wanted somewhere special and wow was that delivered. The service was incredible, the food was the best we’ve had & the duet upstairs was a wonderful touch on a very special evening. We can’t wait to come back!

    I can't recommend this venue enough! It's a great place to eat out. The food was excellent, the entertainment was too, service was exceptionally good, Annie who looked after us was amazing! She was attentive, very professional and added to our enjoyment of our time there.

    Visited Opera Grill for my wife’s 30th birthday yesterday ( Monday 24th June ) had an awful experience. The restaurant knew it was a birthday celebration from the notes I left on the booking, and also when we got seated the waiter even asked again if it was a celebration and said ‘we will do something special’ Moving onto the food experience , me and my wife both ordered fillet steaks which i ordered medium rare and my partner medium, my medium rare steak was well done and very very dry it was awful. I returned this back and the chef said yes he cooked it wrong, i then got told a new steak would be cooked in 7-10 minutes. 30 minutes later my steak finally arrived, after my wife had ate all her dinner, so I’m eating my mains alone at this point. Finally onto dessert, we ordered a chocolate fondant. On the booking notes all I asked for was a candle in the dessert just as a little surprise for my wife, the resturant couldn’t even do that! Not a single thing done for a birthday celebration. £200 for an absolutely awful experience, would not recommend opera to anybody! We traveled from midlands for a day out in Chester and regret it after this.

    Got off to a shaky start. Wrong drink arrived for my husband, which was challenged twice, quite abruptly by one of the staff. Forgot one starter. Rest of meal went ok but not what I expected from a high end establishment. Put a dampener on the whole evening.
