Live music on Saturday night. Delicious food, friendly service. We had reservations for 4 at 7pm and we're seated immediately in a booth. The band kept the volume low. We are not hard of hearing but people with hearing trouble would be better off going during the day or Monday through Wednesday when there's not a band. They also have quieter private rooms! They have a gorgeous long bar and tons of open seating next to the bar for 2 to 5 people and lots of seats at the actual bar. No reservations needed for that section, which is closest to the live music. The brussel sprouts with bacon and blue cheese are incredible!!!! TRUST me. I hated brussel sprouts that were all soft and boiled as a kid. Open Road makes crisps sprouts! The salmon was delicious. Finding the hidden Speakeasy inside Open Road is a fun after dinner activity! It's called Heirloom and takes reservations separately. Heirloom is quiet and fancy, with table clothes. Open Road is casual with wooden tables and an upscale brewery decor. Loved the vibe but not giving Open Road high points on value, compared to similar salmon dishes at high end restaurants at the same area, Reston Town Center. Will I go again? ABSOLUTELY! Parking is free in the garage attached to the restaurant.

We tried the pizzas for the first time and ordered the chopped salad. Mike, our waiter, was very personable. Among Mike and the other staff who delivered food and checked in on us, the service was excellent. The chopped salad was well seasoned and large enough that the two of us who split it felt we each had a good portion. Both of the pizzas we ordered were the small, 10" pizzas - the meat lovers (Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, and Bacon) was served hot and had good portions of meat on them. The Margherita pizza also came out hot and was very tasty. There were 3 of us in the group and we all ate our fill and still brought home half a pizza worth of food. Of course, we also got a dessert, the s'more bar, which we shared. This is a room-temperature dish that would have been hard to eat cold, but too gooey if served warm. It was the right temperature for serving. It was also the perfect size for the 3 of us to share and get slightly more than just a taste of the dessert. Two of us had drinks and they brought out samples for us to try. We liked the dry cider on draft and both of us ordered that - one with a small and one with a large. Overall, the bill for 3, + 1 person who joined us for wine and conversation but not food, was around $90 after tax, not a terrible bill with an appetizer, plenty of food, dessert and drinks. The noise level wasn't too loud and we could hear each other at the table without raising our voices. It was a great overall experience and we left happy.

Sam was our waiter and he was very attentive and outgoing. He felt comfortable checking in with our table of three and was cordial but not distracting. The food we got was the blackened salmon, the fish tacos and the pretzel and the potato soup. The salman was loved by my guest as was the fish tacos. The pretzel was very good but the soup was lacking and it came out mildly cold. It also did not look or taste like it should for potato soup so I would pass on this appetizer until they figure out a better was to present it. Overall a good visit.

Doug was an absolute fantastic server. Highly recommend if you’re sitting in the bar area when he’s working asking for him. Food was great the Bavarian pretzel fantastic.

This is my third time dining at the open road-Reston. As always, the food was exceptional. The service this visit wasn’t quite as good as the service during my previous two visits. I would rate it a c- where the other times I would have rated it an A. But at least it wasn’t a D or an F. I would not be returning if it was that level, even with the great food. My server was very personable. She just wasn’t all that great of a server.

Service was pretty slow. Food was very average. Managers checked on every other table but mine with my family. Would go back again if in the area, wouldn’t go out of my way again for it though.

Went last night for the first time. Because it’s fairly large with high ceilings and open areas, it’s also loud. They had a musician playing and singing shortly after we arrived (we got there around 7, musician started around 7:30) and basically we had to either bend our heads close together to speak and be heard, or yell at each other. That said…the food was good, plentiful, well prepared and served with a smile. Our server was great and seemed happy to put up with our laid-back ordering style (we ordered a hummus appetizer and said we’d wait to order our entrees until we were done with that). It was nice to have a small bowl of popcorn at the table while we waited for the appetizer. The hummus was really good, and our burgers were big, juicy and flavorful. I got onion rings (some of the best I’ve had for a really long time) and my companion got fries, which were good, and not overcooked. The sound level was the only drawback of a very pleasant evening, basically - food was delish, service friendly but not “too much” and the bill was pretty evenly matched with other dining possibilities in the area. I will happily go back to this restaurant.

I have been twice. Excellent appetizers and good beer selection without being overwhelming with choices. I prefer to sit in the bar but the whole restaurants is nice.
