We enjoyed delicious dinners, dessert and great drinks at Once Upon a Time in France. The entire experience was great and I look forward to returning. I’m so glad they now take reservations.

Wow, what an experience! It was like walking into a quaint little French bistro. We had the escargot and scallops for our appetizers, the steak frites for our main, and the dessert sampler with espresso martinis. The food and the service were impeccable. Truly authentic - we’ll definitely be back!

Very much like an actual French Bistro. Sat in a side room that had space for larger groups with worked out well. Was a bit warm as the sun was blasting thru window next to our table, but very quaint. Service was a bit off as some food was delayed. So the meal took awhile, which was also very French Bistro-like. Could have been partially due to the overall noise level. But we were never felt rushed to get thru. The staff is very friendly. Will definitely go back again.

The second visit for two of our party of 4. We brought our French relatives for a taste. It was clearly appreciated as the authentic style cafe this place is shooting for. We started with escargot and pate- both were typical and tasty. Main courses this visit were the Truite & Poulet. Both well presented and delicious. Salads then Crème Brûlée to top off the meal we’re traditional and nicely done. Quite a nice representation of a French Cafe in the east side of Nashville. Recommended!

We were in town for our Anniversary. Did make reservations and glad we did as the place was packed. Having been to Paris and enjoying the cuisine there this was a very good American/French authentic offering. The space was cozy, but there were a lot of folks. Felt quieter in France than in the states, but that’s my only “critique”.

This was our second time dining at Once Upon a Time in France and unfortunately it was not a great experience. The server quite obviously knew very little about red wine and despite this was quick to try and upsell us by suggesting the most expensive bottle on the menu. We didn't bite and although it wasn't a huge deal, it was somewhat disappointing and that alone would not have been a problem (we are quite capable of selecting our own wine, which we did, but typically like to ask for recommendations -- especially at a French restaurant). Sadly, the food also left a lot to be desired. My wife's Beef Bourguignon was barely warm and very dry, so much so that she could not eat it. The restaurant staff was nice about it and took it off the bill. The staff are very pleasant and the atmosphere is great, so I'm not willing to write it off on one bad experience -- maybe we just caught it on an off day.

Everything was just OK, so if you're looking for a new experience, in a not so common part if town, give it a try.
