The restaurant closed for a private event. They did not honor my reservation and did not contact me in advance that they would not do so.

Wonderful setting but a narrow and cramped area. Umbrellas but get gets blazing hot a full awning would have been great. Food & service great

We enjoyed a beautiful lunch at Ombra del Leone, the service, menu, table view and over all vibe made our experience in Venice - ottimo!

Unfortunately we are unable to review this restaurant because they were not open for our reservation date and time. When we arrived, we were told the restaurant was closed and would not be open for another week! The man at the desk seemed confused that we could even have a reservation. I showed him my email and he said they are closed. This was very disappointing especially since this was our first visit to Venice and then we were left scrambling to find somewhere else last minute. I booked with the link directly on their website and now received this email to do a review so I definitely did not have the day or time wrong. I would not recommend this restaurant because I would hate for the same thing to happen to anyone else

If you want a sophisticated, relaxing and unique experience overlooking one of the most famous and beautiful places in the world then the terrace on a sunny day is where you should eat. The food and service, obviously, are outstanding.

We chose the restaurant because it was recommended for its the terrace and view of the canal. We were lucky with the sun and it was absolutely lovely to sit outside. The view of the water is not directly over the canal, it is hampered by loading docks. The food was fine and the service adequate. In summary, a good place for a work meeting but for delicious food, warm and elegant ambiance and kind, efficient and courteous service, there are numerous other options in Venice. We used the restaurant’s booking app, “open table” to make a reservation, however when we rang to confirm, there was no record of the booking. Luckily the restaurant was able to find us a table. Definitely call ahead to confirm any booking made online, even if you receive an email confirmation.

It was very nice, the terrace was smaller than expected and on the docks there a lot of docks and movement but overall it was a nice time and super good tasty food!

Tbf, they didn't seem to know we had booked, or know about my special request, but once I pointed it out, they couldn't be more helpful. They turned a negative into a positive and we had a fabulous time. The food was exquisite, and would not hesitate in visiting again. Strongly advise ringing in advance for a outside table. The views are amazing.

We arrived a few minutes early for our midday lunch reservation. A small group of staff were chatting, and continued to chat as we waited. Eventually a woman asked rather brusquely what we wanted. I explained that we had a table booked for 12. She looked rather irritated and almost unbelieving. I showed her the confirmation on my phone. She gave a deep sigh and said ‘wait’. After a couple minutes, she said “I can seat you but we are not yet ready”. We said fine. We were seated, but given nothing, no menu, no water. We waited until about 12:10 before we saw anyone again. After that service was ok but not friendly. The food was nice, and the setting is terrific, but really for a place like this the service should be more welcoming.
