Omakase By Aung is modern, up beat and contemporary sushi omakase restaurant located at 567 Kapahulu Ave next to world famous Waikiki beach in Honolulu. Mixture of Edomae style nigiris and model innovative nigiris will be served in 1 hour 45 minutes long Omakase meal. Seasonal fish from around the world are used in the 15 courses omakase meal.
Omakase by Aung provides single 15 courses menu to all customers for both Lunch and Dinner Service.
Chef Aung will provide laid back and fun experience for all sushi lovers. Open kitchen with a long 12 seats sushi counter in the middle of the restaurant allows interactive experience between the customers and the chefs.

We had an amazing time. The food was amazing and the chef was interactive and welcoming. This will be a permanent stop every time we come back to Oahu.

The food was delicious. This was our first omakase experience and it was amazing. We’d never focused on the texture and temperature the rice of our nigiri before. Definitely select a delicious bottle of sake to bring. Our only negative comments are: as the course was presented we were told the name of the fish we were eating but not where it was sourced from. The other is due to us being at the end of the counter we did not have many interactions with the chef which we were looking forward to as part of the omakase experience

We brought another couple with us so we had 4 not 2. They LOVED it and said it was the best meal they every had. Chef Aung hit a grand slam home run in his unique style. We come here every time we are in Honolulu as its always going to be a great meal.

Great sushi, unique experience, friendly and good vibes. $140 for 15 pieces and dessert is good considering the quality of the fish.

Another great Omakase!!! The most unique meal we could have had. This was our third time and it gets better and better. Anytime we are in Honolulu even for just a few hours we come here for the best! We have had late dinner (8:00 pm seating), lunch (our cruise ship left at 6 pm that day) and early dinner (5:30 pm). The quality and variety are always the same--the best!

Of the omakase experiences I’ve had in Honolulu, Omakase by Aung is definitely the most fun! His place has kind of a hip vibe, with his young staff and pop music that’s played. His staff are down to earth, friendly and very hospitable. Chef Aung’s sushi creations were impressive, and incredibly delicious!

I celebrated my birthday at Omakase By Aung, and it was hands down the best omakase experience I’ve ever had. Chef Aung, who’s only 30, brought an awesome energy to the night. He was funny, engaging, and kept the vibe light while serving up some of the most delicious dishes I’ve tasted. His take on traditional Japanese flavors with a modern twist was impressive, and you could tell how much care went into everything. The freshness of the ingredients really stood out in every course. Everything from the fish to the garnishes had that fresh flavor, which made each bite something special. The fact that there are only 12 seats for dinner also made it feel super intimate. The whole evening felt personal, especially with Chef Aung adding those birthday touches, not just for me, but for others celebrating their own special days. It was a small thing, but it made a big difference and added to the overall experience.

Food was incredible! I enjoyed every dish that Aung served and there wasn’t one particular dish that was my favorite because they were ALL my favorite! We were celebrating my son and my birthdays and Aung prepared a special dish for the both of us! Mahalo Aung!!!

I have eaten at all the Omakase on Oahu and what Aung created in his space is both delicious and fun unlike anywhere else you could go. It is the Chef culinary talents that make the food amazing, but it is his warm, affable personality that makes it a memorable group experience. You will leave with more friends and memories than you came in with.
