Omakase By Aung is modern, up beat and contemporary sushi omakase restaurant located at 567 Kapahulu Ave next to world famous Waikiki beach in Honolulu. Mixture of Edomae style nigiris and model innovative nigiris will be served in 1 hour 45 minutes long Omakase meal. Seasonal fish from around the world are used in the 15 courses omakase meal.
Omakase by Aung provides single 15 courses menu to all customers for both Lunch and Dinner Service.
Chef Aung will provide laid back and fun experience for all sushi lovers. Open kitchen with a long 12 seats sushi counter in the middle of the restaurant allows interactive experience between the customers and the chefs.

Best Omakase we’ve ever been to, (includes multiple Michelin star restaurants). Aung and Sarah were super engaging, by the end of the evening it felt like a family party. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Each bite was thoughtfully constructed and delicious. The clam miso soup was unique and amazing and I am still thinking about the soy marinated lean tuna. This is a BYOB place, but we weren't feeling boozy that night and opted for just water and didn't feel out of place for it. 10/10 omakase!

We had an amazing time. The food was amazing and the chef was interactive and welcoming. This will be a permanent stop every time we come back to Oahu.

Easily the best dining experience I’ve had in Honolulu in a long time. Superb service and food. Simple and elegant and worth every dollar. Chef knows his stuff and each bite was savored and enjoyed. Some original twists in standard sashimi and sushi, and some fully original creations. I’m already planning the next visit. Definitely pick the later seating if possible. Things can get good when there’s not another party right behind you.

The food was delicious. This was our first omakase experience and it was amazing. We’d never focused on the texture and temperature the rice of our nigiri before. Definitely select a delicious bottle of sake to bring. Our only negative comments are: as the course was presented we were told the name of the fish we were eating but not where it was sourced from. The other is due to us being at the end of the counter we did not have many interactions with the chef which we were looking forward to as part of the omakase experience

We brought another couple with us so we had 4 not 2. They LOVED it and said it was the best meal they every had. Chef Aung hit a grand slam home run in his unique style. We come here every time we are in Honolulu as its always going to be a great meal.

Great sushi, unique experience, friendly and good vibes. $140 for 15 pieces and dessert is good considering the quality of the fish.

Another great Omakase!!! The most unique meal we could have had. This was our third time and it gets better and better. Anytime we are in Honolulu even for just a few hours we come here for the best! We have had late dinner (8:00 pm seating), lunch (our cruise ship left at 6 pm that day) and early dinner (5:30 pm). The quality and variety are always the same--the best!
