Founded by sibling duo Chef Philip Pretty and Lauren Pretty, Olive & Rose is a culinary destination born from their shared passion for exceptional food and genuine hospitality.

At Olive & Rose, we reimagined the dining experience as a neo-bistro, where classic French techniques with a twist meet vibrant flavors that are unmistakably Californian. Each dish tells a story of flavor, texture, and creativity—a reflection of Chef Philip Pretty’s entire culinary career.

Olive & Rose is both refined and approachable. AM service at O&R bagels will include a specialty coffee program and a curated bagel menu. Dinner service will include items such as fresh oysters, handmade pasta, and an innovative cocktail list

From sourcing local, seasonal ingredients to minimizing food waste and reducing our environmental footprint, we’re proud to continue the sustainable dining legacy of our sister restaurant, Heritage, by incorporating green certified and green Michelin star practices into our operations.

Best new spot in Long Beach. Attentive FoH that sets and maintains a meticulous level of service. Menu knowledge and understanding of the plates is exemplary and reflects an attention to detail that is exceptional. Watching the kitchen staff work is a lesson in precision and craft. I cannot recommend Olive and Rose enough.

Early days for Olive and Rose. Food is exceptional, among the best in greater Long Beach. Michelin worthy creativity, soulfulness, "best-ever-had-level" bistro dishes. No liquor license, limited beverage options, is a drawback to be soon, hopefully, addressed. Decor, tables, lighting, room and service tightness is stark and casual. Feels like a work in progress - still, it was a must try and will be a repeat for us. Thanks.

Attempted to have a date with my lovely wife. Dropped her off and parked the car. O&R wouldn't seat her at our table but asked her to wait outside until "your party is complete". The two of us. Invited to move into the empty hard-surfaced dining room, we were greeted by "your table is only reserved for 90 minutes". After asking about specials we were told, "the kitchen requires you to complete all choices with your initial order". So much for gracious dining. At least the food was good: endive salad, black cod, pork shoulder. But the food missed spectacular, nothing like the duck breast at sister restaurant The Heritage, just good. And the wait staff kept pushing the $9 non-alcoholic drinks. At $70 dollars a plate - not including wine which would push costs into the $100 a plate range - not sure that this no-tablecloths, noisy restaurant, with an attitude is gonna make it.

Just a really special restaurant. We are relatively new to Long Beach and after having lived in NYC and LA, our expectations of restaurants is pretty high and Olive and Rose gets high marks from us on food, service, and ambience. Such a good mid-century vibe. The wait staff was attentive, the food delicious and the room lovely. I could not recommend this restaurant more. Hoping they staff in the neighborhood for a long time.

The chicken dish was to die for. The Iberica pork served with the bread and homemade butter is a must!

Style and flavor to savor. Olive & Rose is incredible. The restaurant layout is fun plus welcoming amidst a comfortable ambiance and decor. Stellar outside seating to enjoy a beverage prior to getting seated. The HERITAGE RESTAURANT TEAM is behind this masterpiece. It’s an overall pro staff with pleasant service and liveliness. The food menu has all the comforts you’d want and more. Really a dialed array of food options. Please come support this one of a kind spot. Cheers!
