Founded by sibling duo Chef Philip Pretty and Lauren Pretty, Olive & Rose is a culinary destination born from their shared passion for exceptional food and genuine hospitality. We'v reimagined the dining experience as a neo-bistro, where classic French techniques with a twist meet vibrant flavors that are unmistakably Californian. Each dish tells a story of flavor, texture, and creativity—a reflection of Chef Philip Pretty’s entire culinary career.
From sourcing local, seasonal ingredients to minimizing food waste and reducing our environmental footprint, we’re proud to continue the sustainable dining legacy of our sister restaurant, Heritage, by incorporating green certified and green Michelin star practices into our operations.

Our dining area is a covered patio, please dress accordingly.

What a spectacular meal. The service was wonderful and the food and drinks were magical. Everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

A new gem in Long Beach. A cozy and intimate atmosphere. Nestled in the newly renovated City Center motel which transports you to a different era. We had the must have bread and butter and shared the beef tartare, mussels in a delectable broth, crispy sea bass and tender steak. All delicious and offered a variety of flavors. The cocktails were well balanced, and innovative. There are also crafted non-alcoholic options. The dinning room is on the smaller size so ideal for a date night or small dinner gathering. Noise level can get on the louder side if there are groups and a full dining room given the smaller space. Only noticed a few times. Overall, a great fancy date night!

A beautiful evening out! Once you get over the sketch area and walking past questionable people on the sidewalk, the restaurant is pretty and inviting inside. All the people are very friendly and attentive. We received amazing service and loved every dish. We ordered 4 appetizers, 3 main dishes, 2 desserts, and 6 drinks amongst 4 people. We shared everything so that we could all taste each dish. Two little comments: cocktails aren’t that strong because I was able to drink 3 “Pretty and basic” drinks without feeling anything.. usually with 2 cocktails at other restaurants I’m feelin it and 3 I’m reallyy feelin it but nothing after 3 here. Secondly, we were “offered” caviar bumps which seemed like they were on the house the way our server asked, but definitely were not when we saw $25 per person on the bill later. I have no issue paying for something but when it’s phrased to make me think it’s included, it’s a little bit annoying to get a bill for it later. We didn’t say anything, but just a word of caution since it surprised all of us ! Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves the entire time!

Wine list is minimal. Food is good. Neighborhood is sketchy, but improving. I’ve been 3 times, better each time.

Love the contemporary danish vibe. Overall enjoyed the meal. Meals w the sauces felt just a bit salt heavy. Appetizers:The bread was great -warm olives great- salad 10/10- I could eat that all day. For entrees we had the fish, pork chop (best thing on the menu) and the steak frittes. The steak was pricey for the portion size. The fries were quite literally the best I’ve ever had- served w/ an incredible homemade mayo. They did not have their liquor license yet- surprised they don’t offer corkage. The service was fine. Felt a little awkward at times -I’ve seen rave reviews so I had high expectations-I’ve had way better service in Long Beach.

Other than it being a little cold in there… the service is fantastic. The food was excellent. Just the right subtleties of spices and salt. Nothing overwhelming. Just flavorful food prepared with thought and experience

I went to celebrate my friend's birthday. Our server was Chris. Chris was amazing and knowledgable. He was able to help us with our order. everything came out in a timely manner. Everything was delicious!
