Creative menu, spotty execution. The service was disorganized, but it may have been our server’s inexperience (he seemed new). The idea of a restaurant in a grocery store is unique.

Olili is fantastic, a hidden gem on Kuhio Avenue tucked behind a food market on the second floor across from the International Marketplace. It has a finite number of entrees (like 8 or 9), but they're diversified and in 3 visits we've tried almost all of them. From garlic shrimp with forbidden rice to chili crab noodles to a great burger, Olili is hard to beat for sheer food value, plus the service is fantastic (especially if Bryan is on duty). The only suggestion we have is to put a sign out front so it's easier to find. This is fast becoming our go-to-place to take newcomers to Hawaii.

Honestly the food was just ok, some dishes were alright and some were not very good. Better food options in Waikiki. Service was very good. Restaurant setting was different being in a market. Glad I tried it but would probably not go back.

Seriously wow. Drinks: The Bartender, Brian (I think, I met a lot of people that day) he was amazing. I wanted to try a new gin brand for my martini (I usually do a Hendricks straight up with a twist. He expertly walked me through the flavor profiles of their selection and I went with Tenjaku. Whether it was the gin or his craftsmanship, that was probably one of the best made martinis I’ve had in a while. Food: I did the root vegetables with burrata and the special kalua pig and cabbage. Both were amazing, I never have eaten so slowly to savor every bite. It’s a swanky looking restaurant…if you forget that it’s only a small corner of a grocery store (swanky grocery store though). But that’s the thing…I didn’t even think about it while dining. Lastly, the waitress, Haelee was the nicest and most attentive!

We had a really great meal. We started with the crudo and the root vegetable appetizers. Both used very fresh tasting ingredients and were delicious. Our entrees were the Gem salad with chicken and the Crispy Kanpachi. The salad was sizable and the chicken was nicely cooked. The standout were the tomatoes. The Kanpachi was special in every good way. Balanced deliciousness. Really outstanding. We finished with the “mud” bar dessert. A unique delight. I’m so happy we tried this place as I was looking for an alternative to my usual fare. If you’ve made it this far. Do try this establishment sooner than later. It wasn’t busy when we visited and it is in a peculiar location. I fear with Capitol Grill going in below them, they may find it hard to survive. Do give them a try. I suspect you will be pleased.

You need to go here. The food and the desserts are EXCELLENT. And wait, don't forget to order a drink or two, or three...yessss it's that good.

Great restaurant with a passion staff and chef. We brought our kids, and they enjoyed their food too. The appetizers were outstanding, highly recommend this hidden gem for all occasions!

Great service, excellent cocktails, and the food was unique and tasted amazing. The lack of separation (perhaps a divider wall?) from the market was a bit odd for the atmosphere, but the decor/noise level/lighting was great.
