   Food was great as usual, the waiter was great but the bar was very slow considering the small amount of people visiting the restaurant.

   Started with drinks at the bar, very good. Enjoyed the cocktail class with Bob Peters, awesome! He is so experienced and dedicated to the craft with a great personality. Did the chef experience after the class, new manager I think Drew Carter. This was 1 star. No menu options, showed the chef would offer us something specific with wine pairing. First course was a side salad with nothing special, cheddar cheese was store bought and flavorless. Also you wouldn’t take the blue cheese dressing with the cheddar cheese. Paired with a run of the mill Chardonnay, ok strike one. Main course turned out to be country fried steak, mashed potatoes with black eye peas and Brussels. This dish was good for what it was, but come on, I can get this at Cracker Barrel. Paired with a Pinot noir, I think beer with country fried steak. Let down. Last course was lava cake, yeah……not. Was room temp so chocolate didn’t flow, disappointed because 30 seconds in the microwave would have made this great. Paired with a white dessert wine, should have been a port for the rich chocolate. We will be back for the cocktail class and off the menu, but will pass on the experience.

   Walked in on time of reservation and not many people there. First red flag. Got seated and waiter finally came over and asked if we minded if he put his tray and dishes away and he would be right back. However, he proceeded to do other things and didn’t come back for a while. It didn’t appear there was a manager on site or helping staff as they clearly did not have enough staff or a bartender. Hostess was running around doing all kinds of stuff like making drinks etc. We sat for 15 min before we were addressed by the waiter to start with and drink orders. More people were coming in and we got lost in the shuffle. Watched another table with kids still waiting from before we got there to take their order (same waiter) so we weren’t real confident in what was about to happen since we could see our drinks were ready at bar but not picked up. Drinks sat at bar for 10 minutes so we finally go up went to bar and paid for the drinks, drank them and left. Never addressed with apologizing by anyone from staff and the waiter saw us move and said nothing. Probably won’t be going back unless they get their act together.

   We made a reservation and were seated right by the hostess stand. It was very distracting and we were declined a booth. It makes me wonder what the point is of a reservation.

   The food and drinks are absolutely worth the trip to Rock Hill, SC. Went for brunch last year and finally came back to try the dinner menu, and you just got to try this place if you like a good southern meal. The shrimp toast starter is amazing, the fried flounder is the best flounder I’ve had at any restaurant. The smash burger melt with fries is hitting on every note. Don’t skip dessert or cocktails or even a mocktail!

   Great service, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was delightful. Would recommend anyone to dine here.

   The food and our server Anne was excellent, she was personable, and very attentive. We will be back, and bring friends with us next time. Great atmosphere!

    The bar is dark and always slow. They should consider hiring more bar staff on weekends. Food is good.
