Sticky floors, wobbly table, lighting not turned on and maybe a slight mismatch on food vs price. Those were the negatives. The restaurant still remains quality and a decently fun atmosphere. I'd just rather not spend $19 for brisket rice and have my shoes sticking to the floor. I'll probably be back, but not anytime soon.

Old Thousand is one of our favorite restaurants in Austin. We eat there every few weeks and have never had a bad experience. Excellent and consistent!

Food is always delicious. I had to wait almost 30 minutes for a take away item I ordered at the beginning of my meal. 30 minutes! They could have turned the table at least once. Disappointing.

The food is absolutely delicious, the prices really reasonable and an overall great experience. We are locals and eat here often when in the mood for some great original Asian with a Texas spin, the jalapeno crab Rangoon’s are to die for with the cabbage pickles as a perfect cooling component. The Broccoli Beef is the most tender, flavorful steak in Texas and the Honey Pecan Shrimp are decadent and delicious. Thanks guys, We love your food!

Hi Greg! We are so grateful for your thoughtful feedback. Our favorite thing about what we do is seeing regulars. We are doing $2 Margaritas from 5-7pm if you sit at the bar, including our $10 Dating on a Dime Meals still. We love you so much! 🐼❤️🙏

We unknowingly booked our reservation during their “date on a dime” hours and were amazed by the affordability of the options. We ordered from both the regular menu and the specials and enjoyed everything. The food was very fresh and the staff was outstanding. We’ve already booked to return in two weeks!

The food was okay but I was expecting and hoping to be blown away by unique-sounding menu items and the idea of Chinese fusion. I asked for the waitress’ favorite selections, and she only suggested the two highest priced dishes. So I selected the highest priced one; the pecan shrimp. But there just wasn’t anything special about it. I also tried my partner’s dish; the kung pao chicken. Again, nothing special. We were really surprised that their white rice was not very good. How can you not get rice right!? The drinks were delicious though! I don’t think I would eat there again.

Excellent meal, absolutely delicious and good service too! I love that their HH from 4-7 also includes food! Brilliant idea and way to engender customer loyalty. I’ll be back!

Food was awesome as always! Love the fried mala chicken and beef and broccoli. Service has really stepped up over the past year, kudos to the team for making that such a priority! Every time I’ve gone recently, the whole front of house is always on point. Always enjoy coming here!
