   Easy to make a reservation. Tables were spread out nicely and not cramped. Our waiter Dimitrious was great and very patient and helpful with us "first timers" at the restaurant. Food was very good. NYC steakhouses in general are not cheap, but the experience at the Old Homestead was great. We are New Yorkers and took friends from Milwaukee there. It was our first time there, and we would definitely visit the restaurant again.

   Steak was mostly inedible fat and small. Very loud restaurant. Two morons from Long Island or Jersey next to me playing videos on their phones. Overall below par experience and won’t be back.

   My wife likes her filet mignon medium-well, and, opposed to other name steakhouses which give you an inferior cut or butterfly the steak when you order well, the Old Homestead does neither, and gives you a great cut of meat cooked perfectly. In addition, the Florida rock shrimp tempura had a load of shrimp!

   Great experience. Good steak house at a reasonable prices (for a steakhouse), with different options. Cool traditional vibe.

   Great food. Terrible service. 20 minutes to get our drinks. 35 minutes for appetizers. 30 minutes between appetizer and main course. Four of us; brought out two mains, and then ten minutes later the other two. And then had to ask for the sides. Had to ask multiple times for water refills, more drinks, and so on. Not going back. Too many good steak places in this city to bother with poor service.
