We booked OKO for our anniversary dinner. My main issue with the meal was the price to experience was way off. there was no finesse to the way the food was brought to the table, especially for a total price of Omakase for two and a few cocktails costing almost $600. It’s certainly not the cost that was the issue if the experience and the finesse understanding our dietary needs, and then providing , an adapting the dishes to support those needs. For example, I struggle with very spicy food and almost every sashimi or sushi element originally had some sort of spice element to it, my other issue with this is that it didn’t allow the fish to stand alone as the star of the dish. Overall, like many other reviews we’ve now read we would love to come back for just the regular menu because the non-Omakase dishes did look good. But I would not recommend to go to OKO for Omakase.

Creative menu that takes a little time to get comfortable. Wide variety of choices make for fun experimenting.Food fresh, tasty. Service friendly, helpful. Good wines by glass.

The sushi and miso soup were delicious. The waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable as well. Now for the bad: - I was seated under an air-duct and was freezing the entire time. - The table was sticky. The cheap paper menu kept sticking to it and I even tried cleaning it with a wet cloth, but that didn't work. - The chairs were heavy, loud, and clunky. - The prices of this menu were exchanging blows with Nobu. At least I can enjoy ocean-front seating in Malibu while getting ripped off at Nobu.

We’ve been a number of times in recent months. Overall , a fun spot with an interesting, creative menu. Service friendly, a little erratic at times. Food is fresh and tasty . Usually have tomato salad which is excellent, but they sold out. Cabbage salad with pears ok , but chewy. Ordered two sashimi dishes where fish was rolled tightly together. So what was advertised as 10 pieces seemed more like five. Also one was wrapped inside of beet radishes which overwhelmed the fish. I like the concept of the restaurant but feel they need to up their game a little to keep people coming back

Oko is a favorite place of ours. The food is excellent and the service is outstanding! You may want to lower the background music, the noise level was too high.

Our last two experiences at Oko have fallen really short of great. We used to love dining there but the food, new menu items are mediocre and even old aren't consistent each time we visit. It's disappointing as the place used to have such a great NYC vibe and now with empty tables it's just not what it used to be. But overall, disappointing and inconsistent food will likely not bring us back to Oko.
