Although our server was a very nice guy, there’s a lot to be learned and that also includes the kitchen. 3 people are having lunch. The food for each should be brought to the table together at one time. In this case, food for 2 was brought to the table and the 3rd came out when the other two people were already done with their meal, around 45 minutes after the first two entres were brought out. Both the server and the kitchen should be aware of what has been ordered for a particular table and the food should be prepared based on a plan to deliver the meals together so everyone can eat together. They totally forgot about the banchan. We finally asked after 2 of 3 people were already done with their meal. The food was good and the people were nice but you may have to take the lead in telling them how to bring your food out. This will help with your experience. For example: “Can you start with bringing out the banchan and appetizers we ordered and then bring the entres out together at the same time.” Although this seems like common sense, sometimes when they’re busy or if the people are less experienced, these common things may not be front of mind.

The food at OKims was delicious. The seafood pancake was hearty and the best we’ve had. The fish and chips was interesting to look at first glance however don’t let the appearance fool you. The squid ink batter had a light crunchy texture and the puffed rice cake was a guilty pleasure. I’m not much for tartar sauce but the sauce there had a nice balance. I ordered the hot stone pot bibimbap and I was pleasantly satisfied. It was full of authentic savory ban chan. The ratio to protein, rice and ban chan was well balanced. My son loved the cheesy tonkatsu. If you like cheese this is not to be bypassed. My husband had the bibimbap with spicy chicken. The chicken was flavorful, moist and a hearty portion. The ban chan was a perfect accompaniment and it had the appropriate amount of rice. We were so full from our appetizers and main dishes that we didn’t have the pleasure of tasting their dessert menu. The ambience gave a vibe of old school Chinatown. We sat out in the back and we were seated in a gazebo. It is a laid back atmosphere. Be prepared to wear stretchy pants because you will leave OKims with a full belly.

This place had good Korean food with some innovative spins. SHowever, there are garbage dumpsters lining the outdoor dining area. It’s unsanitary.

Best food on the island. The Yuzu lemonade is delicious, the kalbi, Korean chicken, and pork belly are all amazing!

One of the best dining experiences and we go out a couple of times a week. Told my family and friends about it and I rarely do that. Food was flavorful with amazing texture. And very reasonable. Will definitely eat there again.

We really enjoyed December's specials along with our regular menu favorites: truffle mandoo, miso eggplant, seafood pancake. We look forward to January's specials.
