Extremely poor service - demanded a 12.5% service charge but the services provided even worse than a fast food shop. We booked a table at 6:00 pm and some of us arrived early and some arrived late. We are forced twice to order around 6:00 pm even we told them we are waiting for one more friend coming who is stuck in traffic. While we are still having the meal and one staff come to us and said we need to rush and return the table at 7:00 pm as some one in the table has sat down at 5:30 pm (when there are empty tables). The staff has never told me that the 1.5 hours dining time start to count at 5:30 and need to eat by 7:00 pm. While we are still eating, haven’t finished the food and drinks and haven’t asked for a bill, a staff suddenly bring the bill to us at 7:03 pm and asked us to pay and leave immediately for the next table, We had to finish the meal within less than a hour after the food arrived at the table. This restaurant can be a quick eat but definitely not a place for any small gatherings. Pick another restaurant if you have 3-4 people and would like to chit chat and have no interruptions during your dinning time of 1.5 hours.

Everything about Okan is great! It’s such a fun design and all the staff are helpful and friendly. The food was delicious, served quickly and good value.

Great food - very authentic and tasty. Not the best service though. We kept having to flag waiting staff but were then rushed off the table as soon as we’d finished eating and still had full drinks, despite having only sat down an hour before. Also not suitable for vegetarians as all the food is cooked on the same grill with the meat and seafood.

Terrible service. Sat for 30 mins and had to ask to be served. Other customers left because the staff were standing talking among themselves.

Super nice vibes and really delicious food Recommend it to everyone that wants to travel to Japan for a bit and then come back to reality after. Try the ply wine really liked it. We will go back for sure, super cosy.

A really lovely atmosphere - nice and chilled. And looking into the kitchen you can see why - the team of women work together calmly, respectfully and intuitively, which obviously bleeds into the restaurant space. Food was really lovely and fantastic value

Loved that it was an all female staff - We were so taken care of and there was great feminist energy :)

Second time to Okan. First time with my wife. We've both been to Japan many times - and this is a genuine slice of Osaka hidden in County Hall - the most unexpected of locations, but oddly perfect. So for her it was special. For anyone who's not travelled to SE Asia then accept that the food is basic and 'streety'. But that's the point. Go for the vibe and the authenticism. The rest is what it is.
