I’ve come here 4-5 times now and it’s always been such a great experience. The staff are always so friendly and the food is always super high quality. I brought my parents this recent trip for their first omakase experience and it definitely did not disappoint. The chefs were so sweet and made it a great time for them.

Great food and service especially at the price point. Omakase did take a bit longer to come out vs the other a-la-carte stuff, but it was delicious. Expect to spend an hour and a half - 2 hrs for the Omakase on a busy night.

Came for my bfs birthday! The omakase and okaeri donburi box were delicious and very filling, it was nice they incorporated the box within the omakase order. Thanks for the thoughtful birthday card too!

We reserved the private tatami room for 6 people for my birthday last weekend. They sat us immediately upon arrival and had a signed bday card which made it special. We ordered a lot of different dishes to share and all of them were mindblowingly delicious. The fish was so fresh and nothing was too heavy or overpowering. I ordered dessert which was also amazing and they gave a side of complimentary ice cream. I would highly recommend coming here for a special event or for a date night.

It was good to try their popular good for the 1st visit. I woke prefer to have more nigiri for next time. Their sushi rice is prefect.

Enjoy the overall experience as we were sitting at the counter and was able to have interaction with the chef who served our Omakase sushi plates. The price was reasonable and the service was friendly and I would definitely go back again.

Okaeri provides a good selection of items. The quality of food is high and the taste is exceptional. Service was attentive, friendly and efficient. The price is quite reasonable and portions are of a good size.

Look, here’s the honest truth – this place is excellent, and only ~slightly~ overpriced. Food is expensive in San Francisco, but this Japanese bistro is well worth it. Be prepared for fish that will melt in your mouth and make you feel like it’s the first nigiri you’re ever had. I’m a sushi snob, I’ll admit it – this was great fish. I’d stake my (limited, self-aggrandizing) reputation on it. The King Sake Toro (King Salmon Belly) is definitely one not to miss. The staff are very amenable and friendly, the vibe inside is energetic with a refined elegance. I almost don’t want you to go here, because eventually enough people are gonna find this hole-in-the-wall and it’s gonna be mobbed – unlike the first time I went to lunch on a Saturday and was the restaurant’s sole diner. (I had the Omakase, solid 8/10). So truly, I can recommend this place if you love fish, a great energy, and are looking for a terrific evening. It’s an expenditure, but one you won’t soon forget.
