Situé sur Exhibition Road, au cœur de South Kensington, le restaurant Ognisko est à quelques pas du musée d'histoire naturelle, du musée des sciences, de la salle de concert Royal Albert Hall et de l'université London Imperial College. Occupant un magnifique édifice victorien accueillant le club Ognisko Polskie Club, l'Ognisko sert principalement une cuisine d'Europe orientale et centrale. Ouvert toute la journée, le bar sert des plats légers ainsi que des desserts alléchants. Il propose une grande variété de vodkas aux fruits et aux épices, des cocktails classiques et une petite sélection de bières provenant de brasseries polonaises. Pouvant accueillir jusqu'à 80 personnes, le restaurant possède une terrasse donnant sur des jardins communs d'une capacité de 40 personnes. Il comprend aussi un grand espace d'événements au premier étage pour les conférences organisées en journée, les mariages et les fêtes d'entreprise.

    When we visit England we love eating here, especially under the awning. The food is great, and not only in quality, so we recommend ordering the smaller portions rather than the larger. On this recent occasion, sadly, a raucous birthday party next to our table rather spoilt our evening with old friends.

    Top class experience! Love the way the menu is updated regularly to be in synch with the season. This being summer, a cucumber martini and peach salad were the perfect way to start. The sea bream main course was likewise fresh and tasty. Service was excellent: attentive, but not overbearing.

    A unique Polish style restaurant with history. The menu is varied and sports many polish classics. I always see to end up sitting in the marquee rather than the main restaurant room - but maybe that's reserved for the colder months! Staff are mainly if not exclusively Polish and very friendly.

    A return visit and as always everything was lovely. Cocktails were well made and carefully crafted. The food was excellent. We had an assortment of the pierogies and pulmini all of which were delicious.

    Amazing food. Shared starters of Eel, Duck dumplings and black pudding, all were delicious. Steak salad, trout and pork schnitzel for mains, again all did not disappoint. Main portions are sizeable. Sat out in back terrace, which was lovely and cool in the hot sun, overlooking the park. Definitely will return.
