The Steak Library is a steakhouse run by a long-standing meat dealer with over 23 years of experience. Founder Kengo has been supplying the highest quality meat to restaurants throughout the US for many years. With a passion for meat and a professional eye, Kengo has partnered with numerous carefully selected ranches. His goal was to increase people’s smiles by offering the best meat possible. At The Steak Library, you can enjoy the highest quality Japanese beef, carefully selected Black Angus beef, and Australian beef chosen by the discerning eye of a meat dealer. The restaurant’s interior is a modern space full of luxury, perfect for special occasions or dates. The chef is a meat specialist who charms customers with cooking techniques that bring out the maximum flavor of the meat. In addition, the staff strives to provide the best hospitality to customers and make their time comfortable. Never thought that a place like this would exist in humble Lomita. If this is a sign of things to come, I am all for it! I am not a "eat steak out" kind of person, only because I am somewhat particular about how steak is prepared - I know how to cook a steak and I am usually disappointed at a restaurant. Steak Library was a revelation and a 10/10 Interesting cocktails, they were all wonderful, interesting takes on classic favorites such as a Sweet and Savory Bone Marrow appetizer, garlic fried rice and creamed spinach.

The food was wonderful and delicious. But more than anything, the service was excellent and I had a very pleasant time. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience the attentive Japanese hospitality “Omotenashi”.

Really special small steakhouse in Lomita - a hidden gem! The service was very personal and thoughtful, they made us feel special. The beef is amazing. Quiet restaurant with a classy vibe, great for special occasions!

Great high-end dining experience with unique takes on popular appetizers. A little on the expensive side, but is great for special occasions.

It’s a nice attempt at a fancy steakhouse but it lacks in a few ways. 1) It’s tiny. Way smaller than expected, but due to the location, it is what it is. 2) Food was good but not at that price point it’s at. It certainly wasn’t incredible and just not worth the price you’re paying. Nothing was bad but it was exceptional compared to that price point. For instance, I’ve gone to Mastro’s and ate for substantially cheaper and enjoyed it much more. 3) Service was decent. The waiter was nice, but nothing was uniformed and it did seem like he was relatively new (searching for the buttons, didn’t know the menu well, etc.). They seemed very short staffed. Overall, I would spend the price point at ANY major brand steakhouse before coming back. I would have come back if the prices are close to half of what it is. Try it once and you’ll see what I mean.

We had an incredible dinner. The manager was fantastic. The ambience was more than expected. Our server provided excellent service. We had the Wagyu beef skewers to start off with along with the jumbo sautéed garlic shrimp. The appetizers were delightful. One of us ordered the Caesar salad, which was cold and the dressing was delicious. The garlic toast was scrumptious. We had two filet mignon, one dry aged porterhouse, two side mashed potatoes, and one cream spinach for the table. The steaks were very flavorful and tender. We ended our meal with one banana foster, one cheesecake and one molten lava cake. Wow!! We’ll be back. Thanks for a memorable dining experience!!

Fantastic steaks!!! Probably one of the best I’ve had. Service was prompt and they treated us so well. Decor was nice. Highly recommend.

Very unassuming place in a strip mall, but the food and service are excellent. It's priced well as well, considering what other establishments charge for high quality steak. I would definitely return.

Good food but we felt nickle and dimed a lot. The wine pour was extremely small, the corkage fee is $35 which is the most expensive we’ve ever seen and with A $90 steak you are charged an extra $3 for a sauce to accompany. They served exactly one small piece of bread for each person at the table. We want to support small, local businesses but for a $500 dinner we have higher expectations. Unfortunately we will not go back.
