Officina [oh · fee · she · nah], or “workshop,” is an Italian-inspired culinary collective from Chef Nicholas Stefanelli of Michelin-star Masseria, Philotimo, and the newly opened Le Clou. Officina seeks to bring the very best of Italian gastronomy to Washington, D.C., and is an ode to Stefanelli’s travels, training, and distinctly Italian-American upbringing.

We look forward to welcoming you for unique experiences that capture the essence of Italy. From sunset cocktails atop our Terrazza or a weekday lunch in our Cafe.

We arrived for our rooftop dining reservation to find a completely empty restaurant. However, we couldn’t sit on the rooftop because they had an event on the rooftop. We had made our reservation weeks in advance and did not learn about the lack of rooftop seating until we arrived. They claimed that they tried to call me an hour before our reservation time but I didn’t have any missed calls in my phone. Difficult to believe that they didn’t realize we had a rooftop reservation, but rooftop seating was unavailable and nobody reached out to us. I received a confirmation text from OpenTable the day before. Very disappointed that we could sit on the rooftop since it was a nice day. We probably would have made a reservation elsewhere had we known it wasn’t available. Also, nobody really apologized for this snafu. Instead, their only excuse was that they tried to call me an hour before the reservation to tell me but nobody answered the phone. Didn’t apologize for the lack of communication. Food was good, but the brunch menu was very limited. Service was below par as despite nearly nobody there, food took a while to arrive, not everything came at the same time and our server was barely around to refill water and ask about drink refills, etc. We were looking forward to brunch as my wife had gone to events (ironically) there and liked the atmosphere. Finally, beware of the cost of parking ($29 for just over two hours in the garage and no discount offered by restaurant).

Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience, Unfortunately, we didn't have the rooftop available on Sunday due to a private event. But please comeback and visit us again and have the wonderful experience at the roof top with a great view to the Potomac River. We will make sure to provide you the best service on your visit additionally we will offer you a great discount on your bill. Please ask for Steven

I am sick of these supposed famous chefs opening restaurants and genuinely ripping people off with expensive at most average food. 1. Sat at table there was so much condensation from air vents above dripping on us we asked to move 2. 20 minutes for first order of drinks to arrive. Every one did not get their drink another 10 mins to get the rest of drinks 3. 2nd Oder of drinks arrived half way thru dinner 4. Linguini with sea food for $32 made me stop and stir the pasta to see if except one shrimp there was any seafood in there. Three clams, two calamari one shrimp 5. $40 veal scalloping was so thick it just was not what you expect from a supposed famous chef Total dinner with tip $480 Please stop supporting such sub par restaurants. I had treated some out of town guests and it was an embarrassing below average experience.

Half of our party received their drinks while the other wait to place an order for drinks. The waiter took half of our parties food order meanwhile the other half was starving waiting to place an order. The waiter was switched. Jasmine did take care of our first rounds of drinks. However, the customer service needs improvement ASAP

The sommelier has created an outstanding Italian-oriented wine list with some great values that comments the chef's Italian cuisine. Management makes good hiring decisions.

The restaurant was out of the rosé bottle of wine we ordered, and after we ordered our entrées we were told a few minutes later they were also out of one of the pasta dishes we wanted as well. We asked if we could have a similar wine for the same price but were told no (it was $20 more per bottle). We settled for a sparkling wine which wasn’t really great. Also, servers were too quick to want to take dishes away before we were finished.

We had a lovely meal last night. Our steak was cooked perfectly and paired nicely with our goat cheese ravioli. The service was not good, though. Our waiter was trying hard to speak English. We had a difficult time with the wine menu - not enough middle of the road options. There were a few bottles under $100 and the rest were over $150. The cocktails were also overpriced. $18 for a tiny martini!

We mistakenly reserved a rooftop table thinking we could do happy hour specials there. Upon arrival, we realized that we should have reserved downstairs and they were full. Our waitress upstairs went the extra mile including multiple trips up and down the stairs to get us set up with a table downstairs for happy hour, even tho that no doubt left her without a table in her section. Everyone was super nice about the whole thing and it really turned lemons into lemonade and a very lovely evening!
