We at Off The Rails pride ourselves on being one of the most unique places to eat and drink on the Isle of Wight; set along the old railway line (“Causeway") in Yarmouth’s former train station, the restaurant overlooks the outstanding natural beauty of the Yarmouth Marshes and Mill Copse. There is no other view like ours in Yarmouth. Being located along the Causeway makes it the perfect pitstop for walkers, cyclists, and those visiting the Isle of Wight as the restaurant is just a 5-minute stroll from the Yarmouth Wightlink Ferry terminal.

We openly welcome dogs in our restaurant and offer an extensive dog menu, which includes a range of dry meals, treats, and even dog-friendly ice cream to keep them cool during the summer months.

    Such an unusual restaurant, good food, good service very attentive waiting staff. We took a friend for the first time and she was very impressed

    Delicious food. We were early but they were very nice and accommodating. The ambience was excellent as was the food. Great choice for families

    They accommodated a large group of 19 of us for lunch and cheered up a rainy summer day. There was no compromise on the burgers, fish finger sandwich, tacos and curry, each served with a special flourish.

    Enjoyed it all ! Now please bring back the garlic buttered sourdough toast with scrambled eggs!

    I love everything steam trains so this was a must for me so maybe I had very high expectations- the building is amazing and has been restored beautifully and it’s a real pleasure to sit in. But the breakfast menu is odd - why not have a regular full English instead of Smokey baked beans and a hash brown attached to the black pudding? We heard lots of diners ask for no black pudding as we did but of course that’s not possible. The waffles were a strange consistency I’m not sure if they were stale or just over cooked. The coffee is great but you are paying a lot for this set up and unfortunately we would not visit again.

    Probably the best breakfast in Yarmouth, and so dog friendly. Can't recommend enough.

    Delicious breakfast and service was excellent. Only reason I gave 4 not 5 stars is the scrambled eggs on pesto toast has gone from the menu. What I had was great too.

    Really lovely overall experience. Sham we only found this place on the last day of our hols. No negatives best place to eat and bring dogs.
