Chef Tim Humphrey proudly presents his ode to Italian cuisine in the form of an expertly crafted menu showcasing the bounty of California and emphasizing the flavors of Italy.     Tried Ofena during the SF Restaurant week and I'm glad we did. The vegetarian lasagna was delicious with swiss chard and caramelized onion and the appetizer of roasted persimmons with pesto, maitake mushrooms, pecan and pepato cheese was a creative dish. My husband had the gnocci cabonara with duck which was very rich but a great change as well. It reminds me of a neighborhood gem but a little pricey. Definitely will return.

    My friend and I went for Sunday brunch and it was lovely. We both got the Guiseppe's breakfast with two eggs, Italian sausage, foccacio bread, and fingerling rosemary potatoes. Plenty of food that was yummy and satisfying. Our serve was so gracious and nice. The entire experience was fine.

    From the moment we entered, we were treated with warm greetings. Our table was by the window and nice and allowed for a quiet conversation. The service was friendly and polite. The entire staff smiled and were always helpful. And the food was fantastic. Freshness, presentation and taste was off the charts. We will go again.

    Two dining experiences in less than a week. That must mean something. Food is wonderful. Service attentive, friendly and professional. Great brunch options; both egg dishes and sandwiches. Dinner was terrific. A light, airy foccacia with various toppings to start. One of the best Caesar salads in The City, and a perfectly grilled steak “tagliata” with delicious gigante beans on the side. A very good, though somewhat pricey wine list and creative cocktails. Don’t miss the current pumpkin cannoli. Oh my. We’re looking forward to our next visit already. We’ve got to try some of those incredible pastas! Thank you Ofena!

    The staff at Ofena is just incredible. All The little touches (bday card & banners), the flexibility and outstanding quality makes this place such an exciting addition to The neighborhood!

    I would recommend this place to friends and family who want to sit down and share a meal that will make you feel satisfied. The flavors and presentation were really great. The service team was coordinated and attentive. We informed our server that it was our fist time and they gave us the run down of size and portions as well as some recommendations. Also, she shared how to make it family style to enjoy more of the variety. We'll be back. Welcoming and warm, great food and authentic drinks.

    The menu so enticing so I went with a friend. Great dishes all around. Great service as well. May even consider renting the back room for a future party!

    3.5 stars. Our 2nd time dining here and we brought a couple of friends. The place was busy as there was a back room party of sorts. We shared: Focaccia - hot out of the oven, delicious with balsamic and olive oil to dip. Crispy wedges. Caesar salad - better this time as there were no soft lettuce leaves. I could order this each time with the anchovies. Broccolini - cooked so there’s still a crunch. Individual entrees: Meatball rigatoni - Hubby thought there was too much tomato sauce and too heavy. The sauce looked pasty to me. Duck gnocchi - our friend who rarely orders gnocchi thought the dish was tasty. Clam Vongole - tiny, tiny clams without substance, more decorative than for eating due to size. The pasta sauce was a bit more watery this time and still salty. This dish is my fav at most restaurants but this fish here didn’t compel me to luck the plate clean of the sauce. Seafood risotto - I had a taste of the risotto without any of the seafood, and it was delicious. But my friend didn’t finish her dish and she didn’t rave about it. Dessert: Pumpkin cannoli- 2 pieces we quartered to share. It was OK. The cookie crust was the best part over the filling. Tiramisu- more of a cake dish with loads of mousse like filling. I prefer the original style at most Italian restaurants. The wait staff was light speed at clearing the table dishes. The waitress was nice but felt there was more a rush tonight because they were busy.
