Odyssey Restaurant is a little chunk of Greece transported into the heart of Chesterfield, offering customers a journey of authentic flavours, sounds and the atmosphere of Greece.

Owned and run by a Greek family, Odyssey is based in the centre of Chesterfield town on 1-3 Knifesmithgate, in a traditional English building and what used to be known as the old Queen’s Head. The owners have managed to bring the building back to life by marrying old English and Greek tradition, maintaining the beauty of the building, but also enhancing it with sites and the aroma of Greece.

Among the many menu choices, one can find lovely Greek salad (horiatiki) to chicken, pork, vegetable or prawn skewers or a classic moussaka, rabbit stifado or meatballs with goat’s cheese. Mediterranean flavours and love for cooking Greek authentic recipes is the menu inspiration.

Chicken gyros and souvlaki very good. Everything was fine, apart of amount of salt in fries. For me and my husband were a bit oversalted. Next time i will ask to do not salt my fries.

Great meal for my mums 80th. Really nice setting, friendly staff and great food and wine. Even managed to keep our 6yr old entertained!!!

Love coming to odyssey for tea it's fantastic, lovely atmosphere. Was really nice also to have the air-conditioning on after a hot day. Staff are always really friendly and helpful

Wonderful meal, probably the best Greek salad anywhere. Lovely staff, so helpful and patient. Need to go again.

Friendly greeting upon arrival. Shown straight to table where we had water and Ouzo brought straight over, along with menu. The food was delicious, freshly prepared and hot. Staff were attentive and there to help. I even had birthday dessert with candle, and Happy birthday sung to me before leaving. Very nice.

Excellent food, atmosphere and service! Highly recommend. We also very much appreciated the Ouzo welcome drink! My only slight advice for diners would be to check for extra charges if offered extras - we were asked if we would like a tzatziki dip when our meals were served and accepted, but found we were charged nearly £7 for it when the bill came! Which I thought was a bit steep, a warning of the price would have been nice. But we will know for next time and it definitely hasn’t put us off! I did like that the restaurant seemed allergy aware with a list of foods with allergy labels at the back of the menu, although it did warn that they don’t cater for severe allergies. Thank you!

We had a fantastic meal at this restaurant. Great choice, friendly staff, lovely food and really good value, Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely fantastic as always! The service is absolutely incredible, the staff couldn't do more for you and it's always nice to have general chit chat and a good laugh with them. I love how they recommend dishes and advise you of the about of spice/salt on dishes - adds a little touch. The food is absolutely DEVINE! All cooked fresh and great quality food for a fair price. The best Greek around and I'm obsessed. Thank you Odyssey for another wonderful meal!
