Odyssey Restaurant is a little chunk of Greece transported into the heart of Chesterfield, offering customers a journey of authentic flavours, sounds and the atmosphere of Greece.

Owned and run by a Greek family, Odyssey is based in the centre of Chesterfield town on 1-3 Knifesmithgate, in a traditional English building and what used to be known as the old Queen’s Head. The owners have managed to bring the building back to life by marrying old English and Greek tradition, maintaining the beauty of the building, but also enhancing it with sites and the aroma of Greece.

Among the many menu choices, one can find lovely Greek salad (horiatiki) to chicken, pork, vegetable or prawn skewers or a classic moussaka, rabbit stifado or meatballs with goat’s cheese. Mediterranean flavours and love for cooking Greek authentic recipes is the menu inspiration.

We had our first visit to Odyssey, last night and our first taste of Greek cuisine. We were very impressed with every concept of this family run restaurant. The decor is modern and very well designed, the seating is comfortable and well spaced out. There is plenty of space, between tables and not too close to other diners, and the ambient traditional greek music in the background was a nice touch. It enhanced the dining experience, without drowning out the conversation. Our waiters and waitresses, could not have been more helpful, their insight and knowledge when helping to choose our meals was impeccable, even down to the gluten free options, and offering to swap pitta breads for GF ones. The food was outstanding, presentation was excellent and the different explosion of tastes and flavours was a pleasure on the palette. Whether it be a succulent chicken breast, or a fiery paprika dip we were not left disappointed. The olives, capers and feta cheese were exquisite, and the selection of meats were extensive and cooked to perfection. Simply nothing was too much trouble, everything about this wonderful restaurant, exudes quality even down to the ornate coffee cups. If you're looking for an exquisite enjoyable dining experience, then we simply couldn't recommend Odyssey Greek Restaurant enough to anyone.

Love this place, travel 2 hours to eat here. Food is fantastic we feel like we are on holiday when we eat here. Service is fabulous its everything greek and would suggest if you would like a wonderful meal i woukd strongly recomend eating at here.

The place was beautifully decorated, clean and tidy. We were welcomed and the service was quick, friendly and engaging. The food was amazing! We finished every crumb on the plate, just beautiful. The presentation on the plate was brilliant. Mama's jam was lovely and went well with the feta , the chicken was melt in the mouth and the dessert, wow!. Overall it was a perfect evening for our anniversary. Huge thanks to the all the staff, both front and back of house for make our evening so enjoyable. We will be coming again!

Our first visit to Odyssey amd will definitely NOT be the last. Very warm and friendly welcome. Service was faultless. Very helpful explaining the menu and helped with choices. The house wine was divine. The food was absolutely delicious and piping hot. Nothing to fault at all.

Wonderful date night meal at Odyssey again - it's our favourite restaurant in Chesterfield 😍 Delicious food, tasty wines and a lovely, relaxed atmosphere with friendly, professional and attentive staff. This place never disappoints ❤️
