Odyssey Restaurant is a little chunk of Greece transported into the heart of Chesterfield, offering customers a journey of authentic flavours, sounds and the atmosphere of Greece.

Owned and run by a Greek family, Odyssey is based in the centre of Chesterfield town on 1-3 Knifesmithgate, in a traditional English building and what used to be known as the old Queen’s Head. The owners have managed to bring the building back to life by marrying old English and Greek tradition, maintaining the beauty of the building, but also enhancing it with sites and the aroma of Greece.

Among the many menu choices, one can find lovely Greek salad (horiatiki) to chicken, pork, vegetable or prawn skewers or a classic moussaka, rabbit stifado or meatballs with goat’s cheese. Mediterranean flavours and love for cooking Greek authentic recipes is the menu inspiration.

Wonderful date night meal at Odyssey again - it's our favourite restaurant in Chesterfield 😍 Delicious food, tasty wines and a lovely, relaxed atmosphere with friendly, professional and attentive staff. This place never disappoints ❤️

Umm, where do you start. The food is OK. Passable but not great, as it should be for the prices charged. The menu style is novel but not that easy to follow. The service is attentive but extremely weird. When ordering we didn't get a straight answer from the staff, we wanted a shared sample starter, and £15 each for 6 ice cream scoops of sauce and a flatbed to dip in it, had to order two more flatbreads. The mains nice but trying to ask for a Greek salad instead of vegetables was one of the hardest things I've done at a restaurant. Overall food was ok, service a little bit weird, very overpriced for what you receive.

I’m really sorry to hear that staff members were extremely weird for you, but glad that we were attentive. You shared between 4 ppl a Meze Variety for 1 person. Meze for 1 will give you one scoop of all 5 homemade dips,1 vine leave, plaki beans, olives,feta plus 1 pita. This is a light starter between 4ppl. You can always add extra Greek pita bread and dolmades depending your needs. I don’t want other dinners to think that you paid £15.95 each for that, because it was a Meze Variety for 1 between 4ppl. Regards your salad swap, we always ask if you want to swap any of the sides on your plate for a salad or add a small Greek salad for the table. Apologies if that was extra confusing for you and we couldn’t make it clear. Thank you for your feedback,Anastasia & Matthew

Been to Odyssey a few times and it’s one of those places, that are hidden gems. Staff are so attentive, polite and courteous and the service, is second to none. Food, is truly amazing, huge portions and a great amount of variety, from appetisers to main meals, there really is something for everybody. Great for just a hearty meal at your leisure, but also perfect for a family celebration. I love this place!!!!!.

Fantastic choice of authentic Greek dishes. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent.
