Personally not a great experience for me - they seemed understaffed so waited a while and had to sit ourselves down before being acknowledged. We were then told by a waiter that the manager said we have to wait at the door next time - although we were waiting into our reservation time. When we were seated we weren’t given menus so I had to go and get one myself and work out how each menu worked before the waiter came over to explain. Food was decent and good portion sizes but slightly overpriced in comparison to other Caribbean restaurants. We also ended up sitting in the dark as t he waiter didn’t put the light on in the corner of the room we were sitting - it was when the chef left that she offered to turn the light on for us. Staff were pleasant other than that. Probably wouldn’t go again or recommend to others. Would recommend the waiters undergoing some hospitality training as other customers made comments about the bad service.

After reading some reviews we were a little apprehensive, but we thought the food and service was great and would definitely go back. We had the £30 each Sunday deal for 4 guest and there was so much great food and options to choose from. Our only comment was £5 for a tin of red stripe was a bit steep.

If you're thinking of somewhere that is serving caribbean/African food to eat then Otaves is a good choice. I like when food has different flavours and herbs, rather than everything tasting the same. My favourite was the peppered prawns, but mine out the pepper made my daughter's lips turn red, lol. I've never had ackee fried rice and I'm not sure if I tasted ackee but it was alright. Jerk chicken was great and so was the curry goat. We couldn't eat three rounds of food, so we came away full, satisfied and ready to sleep. My only complaint is the surrounding. I think they should make a better effort on the decor. Really make decided what it should look like. The food and the two lovely young men who served us saved the day.

When we got there the restuant wasnt really set up for customers as yet, and the plates werent as clean . The food came out hot which is great and we didnt need to wait for long on the service part, the cocktails were nice and strong.

The food was delicious especially the pepper prawns which were hot but lovely. I could of eaten everything on the menu! I had a mocktail, which I don't usually have, but when explained the ingredients, chose.and loved. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The music and atmosphere was just right. Had a lovely evening, defo recommend

More focused on preparing for the football than serving their customers. Such a horrible experience was looking forward to all you can eat but after the first round was so disappointed on how we were treatment we just wanted to leave.

A good concept, with delicious food with good portion sizes. The owner Sian was very welcoming and accommodating and explained how to order and the best drink options based on tastes. The venue is small so if you’re going with a buggy best to let them know beforehand - which we didn’t - but they were able to give us a bigger table within 10 minutes, and gave us a fan to keep the baby cool. Would recommend going on a Sunday as you get a 3 more options on the £30 menu.

Been trying to book this restaurant for ages, but it’s always fully booked. I took advantage of their special brunches that they held throughout July, so as well as getting a booking was able to hear Rampage Sounds as well. The food was as good as expected! Can’t wait to return to try the rest of the menu…
