Unfortunately, while the food is great, service is horrible.. I'm not sure if they understaffed, but it took a waiter 35 minutes to get us water and get our drinks order, then - another 30-40 to get food, slow and not responsive.

I usually love ocotillo but tonight was not it. The food was mediocre. There was nothing I'd order again. The chicken was super dry. The pasta had no flavor. The service and drinks were phenomenal as always.

I liked this restaurant. The ambiance was nice and the cocktails were good. I got the parpadelle pasta with pork shank, which has a nice presentation with a very large pork shank on top (I was expecting shredded pork (not sure why) but be prepared to cut into it). I personally wouldn’t order that again because the dish tasted very fatty and oily to me, with a lot of oil on the pasta as well. My friend ordered the tagliatelle which was very flavorful and had a good kick. While I didn’t love what I got I would still come back to try other menu items because other dishes looked very good. The wait staff was also friendly and knowledgeable.

Everything was as expected for dining at Ocotillo… The only problem is we brought someone for their first time and they ordered the chicken and it was dry and tough. And it did not meet expectations by any means for the usual standard set by Ocotillo in the past. I had the popper with lamb shank and it was delicious but the lamb shank was a tad bit dry as well… Spot on though. We were just really bummed out that someone for their first experience they just didn’t like their choice at all the appetizers were amazing. And the service was top-notch as it always is.

We came for a birthday dinner with a group of about 10 people. Our server was excellent at managing the chaos, giving us recommendations and plenty of time to figure out what folks wanted. And the food was excellent! Good portions, delicious food, would recommend!

Food was flavorful. Appetizers we loved: Eggplant Meatballs & Smoked Beets. This was a Hungarian Language Practice meet-up and everyone enjoyed their meals. Zack, our waiter took great care of us.

We were there during happy hour. the chicken wings are amazing. Great value during happy hour too. Highly recommended.

Love this place. The food is always perfect, the ambience and the staff is very friendly. An absolute hidden gem here in Phoenix.
