The dome-shaped venue on the Hoe, aptly named The Dome, was designed by architect Tony Irish. The Dome was first opened in July 1988 as part of Mayflower commemorations in Plymouth and started life as a local museum and tourist information centre.

Designed to have the Art Deco feel and opulence of a 1930s ocean liner, the venue’s bar will feature an extensive wine and gin list, a selection of cocktails plus a full range of beers, ciders and soft drinks.

The restaurant’s menu will feature fresh, local and seasonal produce and will include fish sourced from local day boats. We will also be offering traditional afternoon teas.

There will be opportunities for private dining, small weddings and business meetings – all set against a spectacular ocean view backdrop!

    Normally a lovely place to eat but unfortunately we all had apart from one a Sunday roast at 1700 and was clearly left overs from lunch, potatoes hard, meat tough and yorkshires burnt, Staff were lovely and did apologise. The one who had a burger said it was lovely as was our starters and puddings which was clearly cooked or cut to order

    Really enjoyed it. Requested a window seat which we recieved with thanks. Lovely meal will definitely be returning.

    Had to ask for table to be cleaned as had crumbs and previous food items on the table. The waitress was accommodating and cleaned the table. Ordered a pot of hot water and a coffee - coffee came out and I had to remind staff member for the pot of hot water. Disappointed as I have had Afternoon Tea there on several occasions, with good service. I don’t know whether I would go there for breakfast again!

    Location and service was very good. Starters and main meal for our group was very good mostly. I ordered the belly pork. What i received was diced up bits of belly pork and chips all in a bowl for £20 Very basic and not what was expected from this location.

    Very clean and well organised, best view out over Plymouth sound food is very good at a fair price. Drinks are at the higher price, staff are all exceptional, the environment was very Christmassy. We had a great and will definitely go next time we are out for a meal.

    A lovely meal in a beautiful setting. Staff were all very attentive, especially Noah.

    Excellent service with friendly staff. Good food and espresso martinis! Have visited many times and will return soon. Never disappointed. Thank you to all.

    Absolutely amazing!!! Had an amazing waitress called Safia who was an angel!! One of us had a mustard allergy and she sat down with us and walked us through what they could have for starters and mains. She provided us with amazing service and a very lovely and kind hearted person. I would 100% go back again for a meal. Absolutely perfect!

    Two for one breakfast! What’s not to love?? Eggs Benedict, full English and drinks for a smidge over £20 and all locally sourced, one of the best views in Plymouth, all perfection!!!
