The dome-shaped venue on the Hoe, aptly named The Dome, was designed by architect Tony Irish. The Dome was first opened in July 1988 as part of Mayflower commemorations in Plymouth and started life as a local museum and tourist information centre.

Designed to have the Art Deco feel and opulence of a 1930s ocean liner, the venue’s bar will feature an extensive wine and gin list, a selection of cocktails plus a full range of beers, ciders and soft drinks.

The restaurant’s menu will feature fresh, local and seasonal produce and will include fish sourced from local day boats. We will also be offering traditional afternoon teas.

There will be opportunities for private dining, small weddings and business meetings – all set against a spectacular ocean view backdrop!

    Lack of choice poor roast dinner, service lacking not what you expect for a place not even 3rd full. 5th timing of eating here and had 1 good meal first time for a Sunday lunch will not bother again not good.

    Fantastic evening with my Wife for a rare kid free evening! Beautiful venue. Food was exceptional, portion sizes and amazing and the wine / cocktails! Highly recommended!

    The staff were friendly and helpful and polite, the view and location was nice and it was a pleasant atmosphere, unfortunately the food was not good, me and a friend had a breakfast, bacon was hard and chewy, egg hard inside, mushrooms not great, tomato terrible and in general not good, sausage and beans were nice and the hash brown and toast was good.

    We sadly ended up walking out due to no food suitable for my son as he only eats chicken. He was upset as it was my 16th birthday. I then decided to rebook they said we apologise 😔 I would of like a sorry to Samuel really but maybe I expect too much. My dear son hasn't had a family meal in 8 years due to personal reason. We love the dome and we gutted the dome is usually excellent. The waiter gentlemen couldn't really care less he was blasay. We left and rebooted for 4th July today hopefully the chicken will be available 😀 😊 yours not wanting much in life 😉

    Enjoyed a pleasant cream tea. A large group in the other eating area raised the noise level but otherwise it was a pleasant experience. I though that the portions of jam and cream could have been a bit more generous, but the scones were very nice.

    Fantastic view and wonderful food. Excellent service from Rowen. A very tasteful setting to enjoy lunch with unparalleled setting on Plymouth Hoe overlooking The Sound.

    Second time I have eaten here and both times been v impressed w the food, wine list and the service. Would definitely recommend and will be back when in Plymouth again
