The dome-shaped venue on the Hoe, aptly named The Dome, was designed by architect Tony Irish. The Dome was first opened in July 1988 as part of Mayflower commemorations in Plymouth and started life as a local museum and tourist information centre.

Designed to have the Art Deco feel and opulence of a 1930s ocean liner, the venue’s bar will feature an extensive wine and gin list, a selection of cocktails plus a full range of beers, ciders and soft drinks.

The restaurant’s menu will feature fresh, local and seasonal produce and will include fish sourced from local day boats. We will also be offering traditional afternoon teas.

There will be opportunities for private dining, small weddings and business meetings – all set against a spectacular ocean view backdrop!

We had a birthday meal and the seating excellent with a view although the weather was awful. The starter was nice monkfish scampi with a lovely sauce. My wife’s Main lacked the dressing it was advertised with so we had to ask for this. My fish of the day, skate, was perfect and the fried onions a nice addition at top of the sauce. The potatoes were plentiful and unfortunately some were left :( On a wet day I would have expected someone to have taken our coats? We will visit again.

Have had Sunday lunch a few times at the Dome Plymouth. Today was not as good! There was far too much gravy on the plate. It would have been far better with a gravy boat on the table. The table felt very sticky! And unclean. I wiped it with a wet wipe. Also! Rain was coming through the ceiling, leaving pools of water on the floor.

AMAZING! We decided to make the most of a sunny autumn morn, have breakfast and take in that amazing view. Food was delicious, served piping hot, fresh and top quality ingredients (OV breakfast and the Croissant Royale) and was very well presented (well done kitchen team) Service was efficient, friendly and professional (apart from the Maitre D who seemed a little aloof and spoke no more than three words) A most superb breakfast made even better when we realised it was a two for one deal when we when to settle the bill! We will be back (probably on a weekly basis)

Love this restaurant ate here back in the Summer. I would have given 5 but due to the menu changes I was slightly limited for choice. Pre booked for a party of 6 ladies celebrating a 60th & 70th. Great experiene, great venue & service 😊

Our booking experience was very smooth, contact with the restaurant was easy. We were sat exactly on time on a busy Sunday, drinks came relatively quickly and our food soon after - to be expected after ordering in advance but it all came out together, all piping hot, fresh and absolutely delicious. All my guests thoroughly enjoyed their choices. The plates were substantial, the following desserts equally so and the bill was a welcome surprise, for a table of eight! Thank you for making a birthday dinner smooth and memorable.

Lovely experience overall - wonderful decor, great service and excellent view being sat by the window. And the fillet steak was absolutely wonderful !
