The dome-shaped venue on the Hoe, aptly named The Dome, was designed by architect Tony Irish. The Dome was first opened in July 1988 as part of Mayflower commemorations in Plymouth and started life as a local museum and tourist information centre.

Designed to have the Art Deco feel and opulence of a 1930s ocean liner, the venue’s bar will feature an extensive wine and gin list, a selection of cocktails plus a full range of beers, ciders and soft drinks.

The restaurant’s menu will feature fresh, local and seasonal produce and will include fish sourced from local day boats. We will also be offering traditional afternoon teas.

There will be opportunities for private dining, small weddings and business meetings – all set against a spectacular ocean view backdrop!

The dome yet again was great for Sunday roast, table we had was in a very noisy area (bday) but staff happy to move us with no problems . As before staff were really attentive & professional. Highly recommend

Food and service was excellent We had the Sunday roast and the food was plentiful and very tasty. The deserts were wonderful too. Everything was to a very high standard The only thing I can say is that the toilet doors need re varnishing and the toilet areas just need a little attention as they haven’t been touched since renovated. Only a small thing but it would look better if this was repaired. It was rather noisy in there today as it was busy but it was lovely to see how popular this place is with people enjoying themselves.

The Vegan roast is the absolute BEST roast I have ever had…at home or out, hands down. The portion sizes are generous, the restaurant has the most gorgeous views and the waiting staff are attentive and friendly. So glad we visited today. Have already recommended to friends as a must visit location. Many thanks for a delicious Sunday lunch ❤️

Excellent service, our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food and drink was excellent and of good value. The restaurant is beautiful. We all had a lovely evening.

Food was amazing rib eye was done to perfection recommend the crumble dessert Host were welcoming and attentive Venue ambience was pleasant and calm you could actually hear your partner and have a conversation without the usual loud noise and raising voices to be heard Definitely will be back

Lovely venue for celebrating my son's 18th birthday. The food was excellent and service also excellent. Good value for money. Nothing was too much trouble. Would return.

Wow! Great atmosphere in an Art Deco Dome. If you come to Plymouth you must have lunch or dinner here. The seafood is fantastic with a twist.

We ate in the bar area as had our dog . We were a bit worried we couldn’t book table but were fine a no issues. Great location , interesting menu and drinks. Star was the calamari and the scallops starters but all food was great and the staff were really friendly and very attentive.
