I usually rate Obon with five stars. Tonight the food was not good. Service was slow and inept and the dishes came out irregularly.

Obon is a wonderful spot for lunch, dinner and drinks downtown! Sushi, bao and lots more fresh and expertly prepared, served by a friendly staff!

We arrived to our door being opened for us. We were directed to the table in the area I reserve. Our server Bella arrived and our evening was perfect from that moment on. Our drinks and food arrived shortly afterwards. Our salads and sushi was delicious. I highly recommend eating here.

First time to Obon, it was really good. The ramen and sushi were very fresh and flavorful. We sat at the bar, bartender was terrific and very attentive. Overall great experience and will come back again.

Really good sushi - the best we’ve had since moving to Tucson from the Bay Area. Love that ramen is on the menu along with a terrific assortment of appetizers. Wish there were more specialty rolls and that our waitperson had told us soft shell crabs were the special. I LOVE soft shell crabs and didn’t notice the specials board above the chefs’ station until we were leaving. Aarrgghh!!!! We’ll be back, however. The food is worth the half hour drive.

Service was very poor. We (2) were there for an hour and saw our waitress two times. Once to take our order and once more 40 minites later for her to tell us it would be another 5-10 minutes for our food. 20 minutes later we did have to get up and leave as our hope for eating had dwindled. Nice people though, and the food looked like it would have been good. We will never know.

Great food, snazzy ambience, excellent service. It was a little loud, but not too bad. Pricey, but it is downtown and you’re paying for the ambience as well. The tuna nigiri was good as were the three rolls we had!
