The Cave Café offers indoor and outdoor dining. Enjoy the enchanting ambiance of dining inside the cave or outdoor dining overlooking the majestic views of the De Portola Wine Trail. Our friendly, approachable, and extremely informed staff will make your dining and wine tasting experience unforgettable.

Our Cave Café welcomes diners Sunday - Thursday, between 11am to 6pm and Friday - Saturday, between 11am to 8pm. Reservations are not required but highly recommend during the weekends. We can comfortably accommodate parties with up to 8 guests in the restaurant. For larger parties, please feel free to contact us at 951-699-9102.

Menu was good but could be expanded upon. We had the BBQ Chicken Salad which was very tasty indeed. The ambiance in the cave was spectacular and the service exemplary.

First time wine tasting, we didn’t know what to expect. Ambiance was amazing and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The cave tour was led by Dane who was an amazing guide and extremely knowledgeable, would highly recommend!! The wine was delicious and after seeing the dining area had to stay for lunch, the food was great!

I tried the pinotage, which I didn't particularly like. I would've ordered a sangria, but our server didn't tell us about it until after she took my order and already brought me my wine. I also tried the Torta Cubano, which was highly recommended by our server, which was very mediocre. The meat was a bit dry and the contents were sparse. Our server was fairly difficult to flag down when we needed her, and she charged us for wine flights we didn't order.

We decided to try this place out. Had a reservation on Saturday 9/21/24 for 6:45. We parked (parking lot is at bottom of entrance) there is parking close to entrance but we didn't know so we parked below, should have checked out first, there were a few spots available. As we walked up we started hearing music, there was a live band performing. We thought it was a private party, but it was not. This was the first night of having a live band. They have a dedicated area where you can sit and have a glass of wine and listen to the music. Pleasant surprise. Went to the hostess desk and got seated promptly. It was nice because we could hear the music without it being in your face. We ordered the beet salad with whipped feta and it was very good. I wasn't that hungry so I ordered the shrimp appetizer, it was okay. I didn't realize it was a fried dish. Husband had the pot pie and it was very good. We both ended up getting beer instead of wine because they didn't have a bottle of their tempranillo open for a taste and didn't want to spend $58 and not like it. I would definitely recommend this place. It was a very lively vibe and food was above average. Service was good. Will be back to try other dishes and enjoy some live music.

Servers are great! Food is delicious and very good for date night and private dining areas in between wine barrel walls.

Our server didn't greet us until we had been seated for 20 minutes. After that it was great. They are very proud of their cocktails at their speakeasy, the distillery. $25 martinis? Overall it was a nice evening and the Cave restaurant was a fun experience. The band that was playing, Echoes of Cadence were great.

Our lunch in the cave was a great experience. The food, service and ambiance was amazing. The wine tasting cave tour, however, was very disappointing.

We had our tour with James he was fantastic. Small group this time but he brought the energy and excitement. He was engaging and fun very knowledgeable. The tour was not too long not too short just a good amount of time tasting delicious wines and learning the history. We had an amazing time here celebrating our anniversary and dinner in the cave afterwards was delicious!!

I made reservations for 7 at 5:30 Sunday evening with a special note we were celebrating a birthday. I called Sunday morning to request an add on to our reservation which was graciously added and reconfirmed for a birthday celebration. When seated again we were asked if there was a celebration? We replied, yes a birthday. While looking over the drink menu we were told we need to hurry and place our dinner orders as the kitchen closes at 6. (This was never brought to our attention prior to being seated). I asked if we need to place our dessert order now?(as we were excited and looking forward to having desserts) our server said no it will be okay. We hurriedly placed our drink and meal orders. Our meals did not come out at the same time. When it was time to order desserts we we’re told we only had two choices (which we not the ones we wanted)as the kitchen was closed. Needless to say we were disappointed. Unfortunately, we felt we needed to rush a bit as the crew was cleaning vacuuming around us. Our meals were enjoyed but feel for the price our night could have gone much better as we were entertaining out of town family and with a special birthday celebration.
