The original, charismatic three-storey building, which dates back to the mid-1800s, stands proudly just over Telford Bridge on the River Wansbeck – a grand feature of the historic market town.

Lovely meal, staff very friendly and good service. We had a lovely table and enjoyed our afternoon. Will definitely go back.

WE had an excellent experience and a good meal. Information sent with booking was good and we could park close by.

Food good but disappointed that no a la carte menu as indicated on Website. Had to pay for two courses even though several of our party only wished to have one course. This made the meal relatively expensive. Quality of food and service was good though

Gorgeous food as usual, this is one of my favourite restaurants, always well Presented food, great flavours and very good value. The staff are all lovely too. Only thing I couldn’t understand on this visit was why the crammed us into a corner so close to another table that we were practically part of their conversation, especially when the restaurant was not busy at all. We did get moved when we asked but it just seemed bizarre.

Have been to this restaurant several times and cannot fault it. The quality of the food is outstanding with generous portions. Staff are very attentive, friendly and courteous and you do not feel rushed. It is sometimes difficult to get booked if you want a specific day and time as the restaurant is always busy which speaks for itself. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a quality meal.

From arriving and having a cocktail in the downstairs bar, to having our meal upstairs, the service, quality and ambience was perfect. This is my favourite restaurant and I always know I will enjoy every minute. Service is the best, outstanding.
