The original, charismatic three-storey building, which dates back to the mid-1800s, stands proudly just over Telford Bridge on the River Wansbeck – a grand feature of the historic market town.

    Gorgeous restaurant, great ambiance and service. The food is just beautiful in taste, presentation, sourcing and I’m proud we have such a great calibre of restaurant in our town. The staff are amazing! X

    We enjoyed our meal but the food was not as hot as it should have been. Not sure if this was because our table was on the ground floor due to us booking at short notice. It was noisier than previously, probably because we were on the ground floor and there was a football match on TV.

    We had a really enjoyable evening with friends. All of us enjoyed our meal very much and the service was excellent.

    Excellent service great value, the food was very tasty and perfectly presented, but some times a little to extravagant, maybe sometimes a mustard mash a few peas and gravy instead of the sticky jus that adorns the plate. All in all would thoroughly recommend

    Beautiful food and plenty of it. Friendly and welcoming staff, would definitely recommend and will visit again when we return to the area.

    Really lovely place, we went on a Sunday and had a roast dinner, it was amazing,portion size was very generous aswell.
