North Point Kitchen + Bar opened in 2023 by the Gilbert family, lifelong residents to the Chicago Northwest Suburbs. Chef and owner Joel Gilbert decided after years of searching for the perfect location that he was going to begin his journey with his first brick and mortar restaurant on the most Northern Point of Forest Lake, in Lake Zurich Illinois. After years of working and running restaurant establishments and working with his company Butter & biscuit Co. at local farmers markets, Joel has established great friendships and partnerships with some of the best local farmers. Joel took this opportunity to use the best seasonal products for his Italian inspired cuisine. Come enjoy the beautiful sunsets on our outdoor patio overlooking Forest Lake, or enjoy a table in our panoramic indoor patio, year round.

The view is beautiful. The interior is very nice and clean and minimal. The service was very friendly. It was not busy so the noise level was fine, but I heard it can be a little noisy. We had the Farro bowl and the cheeseburger. Both were absolutely delicious. For lunch the menu is small. It has been open about one year. I can't wait to go back.

Came here with my family for Sunday night dinner and was pleasantly surprised! It's nice to have a higher-end bar and restaurant in the middle of the northwest Chicago suburbs, and even nicer that it's only a 3 minute drive away. Was not aware that the kitchen closes at 5:30 PM on Sunday though and we arrived right at 5 PM. They were still able to serve us a full meal that was delicious. We will definitely be coming back!

We enjoy an excellent dinner. The food was very flavorful and our server, Kerry, was great! We sat at the bar which was very comfortable.

Everything on the menu is good. It’s a nice blend of upscale bar food and upscale fine dining entrees. We had the pork chop special, huge and juicy, and the veal saltimbocca with oven roasted crispy fingerling potatoes, a generous portion. We could have opted for the pizza, which looked good..we were hungry. Great rotating selection of beers. Excellent cocktails, fast service,. If you want to hit the video games, order cocktails and hor’s de oeuvres, sit at the games a few minutes, then to the table for dinner. The service is fast, and the food is tasty. Fun evening

We had a good time at North Point, the space is amazing considering it used to be a dive bar! Right on a small lake, sat on the patio (be aware after dark, due to the lake location, a ton of little flies come out attracted to the little lites they put on your table….turn off lite or move to edge of table or eat inside!) The decor and ambience are really appealing and the menu is smallish but varied, with good cocktails as well. My husband had salmon and my daughter and I each had a pasta dish, all very good and the Caesar salad we shared good as well… Pizzas and sandwiches also looked good, will def be back to try those!

My spouse and I had dinner for the second time at North Point Kitchen + Bar on 10/1/2024. The food was good. My spouse ordered the North Point Burger and I ordered the Forager's Ziti. My spouse has gotten the burger before. It is huge and based on his comments tasty. My pasta was very good and has a little spiciness to it. The serving was large enough that I took half of it home for lunch the next day. The salted caramel was fabulous and the coffee was very good too. It took a bit to get the coffee but they had to make it as I had ordered decaf. The service was very good and friendly. Our waiter checked on us enough that we didn't feel forgotten but she also didn't check so often to be disruptive. The ambience is great when we first got there. It was quiet but as the night wore on, it got louder. That is to be expected as we were there for a 5:30 PM reservation. We like this place because it is local and close to us. The only negative thing I would mention is that we sat by the window facing the lake. There is a vent right below are table that was blowing very cold air. Another waiter attempted to close the vent but it wasn't closed all the way so he put a menu on top of the vent. This helped a little bit and I was able to remove my jacket to eat but it was initially cold in the dining area and not as comfortable as I would have preferred. We will continue to eat here despite the chilliness!
