Our OpenTable reservation was on the hostess tablet, we were sat outside in a timely manner, but for 15 mins there was no server or water while baking in the sun. After 30 min seated our server took our appetizers and entree order, we got our appetizers about 40 mins in, and our entrees after being seated for a hour. We got mussels and the plate was not removed for 30 mins despite our waiter coming to our table twice. We had to ask to have the plates taken. Overall food we ok, and hot but watching the long lines to get a table we understood if service was better the overall experience would be different.

We were a party of 7. Our server was Robert and he was excellent! Dealing with 7 women can be a challenge and he was up to it. Meatball sandwiches & salad for a few. Crispy Eggplant. Meatballs alone. The special garlic bread. All very good. Beautiful day in San Diego and Robert was our photographer.

We shared the truffle garlic bread. So delicious. The soup of the day (potato, kale & sausage) was super yummy - even on a warm day it hit the spot. But one of the highlights was our server John. Very courteous & professional young man. Just a wonderful meal.

Loved the salmon I’ve ordered.. my friend let me taste her Margherita pizza & it was good.. when we went to Del Mar yesterday we stopped by the restaurant & bought 2 pizzas: Margherita & the Pig, both pizzas are fresh and delicious ; we’ll be back for more..

We used to love dinning at North Italia but they seem to have lost their charm. They have hiked up their prices and the quality of food has gone down. The Pizza was $20 and nothing special. I have had better pizza from the frozen section of a grocery store! The mocktails were $12 each for a tiny bit of juice and tons of ice.

Great cuisine and service. If you request a table outdoors on the Open Table app the staff doesn’t often see that so you need to mention it when you arrive at the restaurant. I’m impressed with how they time the arrival of your main course just perfectly as you are finishing your salad. Do be mindful of requesting the smaller serving of wine if that’s your preference or you will be brought the larger serving. They don’t always ask first. Great vibe!

The food has gone downhill . I heard that they are now affiliated with The Cheesecake Factory . My friend and I both had to return our pasta twice . The noodles were under cooked . They never got it right . I had to return my drink which was an Old Fashion because it did not taste like an Old Fashion and was weak .

Energetic is "NOISY". If you can, sit outside to avoid the noise. The food and service are always terrific.

This is our second time here and the food, service and ambiance does not disappoint. Their garlic bread with lemon ricotta is DELICIOUS and their pizzas and pastas are also wonderful!
