Good but not great experience. No bread served. Seating table could have better considering we had reservations

We loved everything about North Italia! The choice of using a delicious gluten-free pasta option for any of the pasta dishes was a godsend for a member of our party who has to eat gluten-free. All four of us really savored our menu choices — spaghetti Bolognese, chicken pesto, braised short rib and ricotta cavatelli pastas.

The food was ok. Found a hair in calamari. Shrimp scampi was bland. Pizza was awesome. Crispy topping sauce went well with meats crust on pizza was crispy. Bolognese was missing seasoning. Did not complain or let waitress know about hair. It wasn’t about hair just mediocre food.

It was our first time visiting North Italia in Ballantyne. I made reservations for lunch and was glad I had as the restaurant filled up quickly. We were nicely greeted and sat. Our waitress was very pleasant and provided great service. We started with the famous meatballs. Secondly,the Italian Farm salad ( not positive I have the name correct). The salad was similar to an antipasto. However,all the ingredients were finely chopped. Lastly, we ordered a pasta dish with lump crab and tiger shrimp in a light olive oil and lemon sauce. Everything was delicious! We shared each course. We left very full and we will definitely be going back soon.

Despite sitting in the far back corner of the restaurant there were several flies flying around us and landing in our food. Made for a very unpleasant dining experience.

Overall the dinner and cocktails were very good. Atmosphere is awesome along with the friendly staff. Food was good but I just don’t understand why some Italian restaurants dont offer a bit of tasty bread. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️. We will definitely go back.
