Located off of Sand Lake Road, along the city's famed "Restaurant Row", NORMAN’S was recently voted BEST Restaurant in the 2024 Readers Choice Dining Awards by Orlando Magazine. Also named as the TOP Florida Restaurant in 2024 by Southern Living Magazine!

Norman Van Aken is a restaurateur, chef, author, and James Beard recipient of “Who’s Who in America" regarded as the “Founder” of New World Cuisine.”

Our restaurant offers a creative culinary and mixology experience, including an extensive wine list. We offer our main dining room, two private dining rooms, and our interior bar/lounge. Our elegant, covered Terrace offers alfresco dining, with live music on Friday nights, & a DJ on Friday/Saturday.

HAPPY HOUR Mon-Friday from 5:00- 7:00PM, $10 Cocktails, $8 wines by the glass & various Tapas creations. DRESS CODE:

Went to celebrate my wife’s birthday (we had reservations). When we arrived there was nobody in the front desk, after 5 minutes of waitresses walking by, I went to the bar to ask for help. We both had the filet mignon, the quality of the meet and the term was great but unfortunately it was over seasoned. The waitress decided to take our wine to a service section as the table was not big enough for the plates, the lamp and the glasses, had to keep asking for him to pour more wine until I decided to stand and bring my bottle to the table. They never acknowledged my wife’s birthday.

Awful service and food was average at best. Would not suggest this place at all and for sure would never come back.

I’ll keep this brief. Here is my summary: 1.Food: The food was okay overall. The steak was not cooked to the requested medium temperature and arrived cold, which was disappointing. However, the potatoes and carrots that accompanied the steak were excellent. The yuca with shrimp was a standout and highly recommended. My wife’s truffle mashed potatoes were delicious, while the fish was just okay. For dessert, the choco flan was excellent. While there were highlights, the overall food experience was average. 2.Service: The biggest issue for us was the service. Although it was a busy night, we waited far too long for our drinks to arrive. After finishing our first course, no one came to clear the dirty plates, which remained on the table for an extended period. My wife had to take my water because hers was never refilled, and there was no replacement offered. Additionally, there was no follow-up from our server to check on us or provide updates on our meal. The server seemed unhappy or stressed, which negatively impacted the experience. The hostess who greeted us was very friendly, which we appreciated. However, for the price point of this restaurant, we expected much better service. We frequent other establishments such as Knife & Spoon, Ruth’s Chris, Capital Grille, Capa, and Kress Chophouse, and have never experienced service issues like this. Unfortunately, the subpar service made our Christmas Eve dinner a disappointment and far from what we had hoped for.

Chris took great care of us as did the rest of the staff at Norman's. We both enjoyed our holiday-themed cocktails and our food and wine were delicious. Definitely a return trip for us!

Four of us went to dinner on Christmas Eve with a 6:30 reservation. I was not happy with having to make a $100 deposit on our reservation, but OK, I did it for Christmas Eve. Later I was told it would be refunded to my card in about 10 days. Will not do this again. We arrived for this early reservation to be told our table was not available yet and would we like a table outside (in 60 degree weather). We said no and they took us to the bar where they did nicely pay for a round of drinks. We could see many empty tables, but were not given one for about 30 minutes. They did try to make us happy, but I must say that our meals were just OK. I feel like there are better dinners to be had nearby in the $50+ range.

Norman's is where you go for a unique food experience where the dishes are creative and tasty. A step above a typical fine dining restaurant like Morton's, Capital Grille etc.

This is a special occasion restaurant. Prices are a bit higher than expected, but the food is amazing. Drink prices were very high, and the wine list had many more high end wines than affordable wines. It seemed tailored to expense account guests. But each dish coming out of the kitchen was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Our tenderloins were cooked exactly as requested, and accompanying sides were delicious. I will dine there again.
