Norfolk Seafood Company and Oyster bar features fresh local seafood with a variety of oysters and is centrally located in downtown Norfolk. The mission of the Norfolk Seafood Company is to bring tasty seafood to locals and tourists, minus the trip to the Oceanfront. Had a great meal. I had the seafood Cobb salad. Loved it. My wife had the Jambalaya. Also very good.

The appetizers was lacking some salt and the butterscotch mousse didn't taste like butterscotch mousse.

Great service and delicious food. Our table ordered the crab cakes, jambalaya, and shrimp and grits. It was all outstanding.

My husband and I were visiting from out of town to attend a show at Scope Arena. This restaurant was the perfect distance to walk after dinner. We sat at the bar and enjoyed their Happy Hour specials including raw oysters, oysters Rockefeller, blackened tuna taco, goat cheese and half off a bottle of wine. We also ordered Scallops in a Bacon Jacket off their main menu because I love scallops, goat cheese and mushrooms. Unfortunately, however, the dish was very disappointing. Too many rich flavors. The brown butter pepitas overwhelmed the goat cheese and mushroom risotto. These ingredients were listed in the description, but the risotto was swimming in brown butter. Also, I like bacon, but I would’ve preferred the scallops without bacon. I felt the dish had too many fats going on. Otherwise, the happy hour menu was delish, and the service was excellent. I didn’t catch our bartender’s name, but he was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Our experience was disappointing, especially after reading the reviews. Food was just ok. I ordered the catch of the day and the special (squid ink ravioli). Specials and catches of the day should be home runs but they were not. Some hot dishes were served cold. The menu items were on the pricier side so we expected more. I understand having an off night but, unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to recommend and I would not return.

Two couples out for dinner. Our food was amazing! The guys ordered fried oysters as a shared appetizer. They both thought the oysters were "fried to perfection." For the entrees, between the 4 of us, we had Shrimp 'n' Grits, Fried Catfish, Fried Crabcake and Lobster Tail and Baked Crabcake. No complaints, just happy patrons enjoying a very, very, delicious meal together. Hint: they crabcake has no filler. Also, if you want to order a side, choose braised collard greens; hands down the best seasoned collards I've ever had (Sorry, Mom) And, OMG! You must get a slice of their in-house made key lime pie. It's my favorite dessert, and this is the mot authentic pie that I've had since a trip to Key West, FL. How can I end without giving kudos to the young man, David, who took such good care of us. David was very professional and quite polite as he put up with our "few" questions. Got our orders perfect and made our evening more enjoyable. *I deducted one star because we were seated at a wobbly table. Overall, it was an evening of great food and friends! I would highly recommend dining at Norfolk Seafood Co & Oyster Bar.
