Many restaurants in Little Italy have become destinations, among them the Busalacchi family's Nonna. The rustic décor features a relaxed country-style feel throughout the restaurant, including the delightful patio. The wonderfully welcoming atmosphere celebrates yet another delicious Sicilian food lineup, including pizzas and all that you would expect from an authentic Italian menu. The terrific entrées show the Sicilian influence, and fill the restaurant with great aromas.

Went back for the polenta and bolognese appetizer because it was sooo good when I went there 3 years ago, but it is no longer on the menu. The foccacia wasn't as good as I remembered. Now shaped as a pizza pie and not the loaf version. Despite those disappointments the meals were tasty. Not cheap, but those folks in the kitchen know what they are doing!

First time my daughter and I have eaten here. Service and food was really good. The desserts are awesome!

We have been to Nonna's several times. They have changed the menu. I missed not being able to "build your own pasta dish", where you pick a pasta, a sauce, any other added items. Because that was no longer option, I tried the short rib dinner. The short rib, although tender on the inside, was burnt on the outside. I didn't eat it all. The dressing on the caesar salad was different, and my hubby didn't like it. The lasagna was ordered by a friend, and said it was just ok, nothing special. The tiramisu was good, but not the best I've ever had. You can only get penne pasta gluten free. Our server was very good. Unfortunately, we will not return. There are many other Italian restaurants in Little Italy, San Diego

Was sat at a corner table that didn’t have a ceiling fan nearby. Was hot and uncomfortable. Overall food was good. Service left a little to be desired. They used to do fresh ground Parmesan cheese now they hand you a little plastic cup. Kinda thrown off by that. For the money, for a bowl of pasta, a little fresh cheese goes a long way.

I had the Tortellini in a creamy mushroom sauce and the husband had cheese raviolis! BUT the Bruschetta was meh… I am a full blooded Sicilian, we had a restaurant for many years in LA with an Italian deli so guys it was dry, no olive oil really the bread didn’t have that great crunch, tomatoes did not have much flavor. We will be back!

Wonderful dinner here for a friends birthday. The food was great, reasonably priced for the area, and the menu was straightforward with the classics. Drinks were also great and priced well. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our only critique is the quality of our desserts. The tiramisu was frozen in the middle and our Opera cake was dry, maybe from the dessert case being too cold since the menu claims everything is made fresh daily.

Her food was excellent our server recommended some great dishes and a great wine he knows what he's talking about My only disappointment was they do not serve a regular bread only focaccia and being an Italian family we have bred with every meal but our waiter got us some bread.

my friends and I had so much fun for my bday! We loved every single minute and the workers were SO generous and nice… always checking in on us, clearing our table if it need be, and is just overall amazing!! Definitely eating here again!

Good was great! I have the gnocchi pesto. Delicious! My husband has the fra diavolo. Also. Delicious! And our waiter Luca was great!

We have a wonderful dinner! Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We tried both of the evening specials and they were amazing. Highly recommend the sampler appetizer Misto. Would definitely go again.
