As San Antonio’s food scene continues to evolve, a new culinary hub is beginning to take shape downtown, where some might argue it all began. With signs of life stirring and anticipation building, the lights are officially back on in the historic Fairmount Hotel’s corner eatery. SILO Restaurants and Food Network Star runner-up and Executive Chef Luca Della Casa announce the opening of NONNA Osteria, offering artisan Northern Italian cuisine, honoring the regional traditions and heritage of Chef Della Casa’s homeland.

We are foodies and live downtown, this is a favorite the menu come from a top Italian chef he has training his kitchen and service staff well. Branzino is amazing. Service awesome. Chef Matthew always watching the details

The restaurant is comfortable and quiet unlike so many other places. Our server was excellent and attentive. He made recommendations that were spot on. The salad verde was good and very large. The octopus was excellent. The gnocchi was outstanding. The wine list was also good. Would go back again.

Took advanatage of a BOGO deal on facebook, worked out perfectly! I totally enjoyed the meal, and my friend was equally happy..highly recommend!

Great service, wonderful dishes perfectly prepared. Got a little noisy with celebrations, but the after dinner rooftop experience was fantastic.

The one downtown was very dead and bright. My food was burnt and nothing tasted like it was from scratch I prefer the other Nonna location

All waitstaff were excellent, I wish I could recall our waitress’ name , I’m so sorry I don’t, but she was fantastic!!! Food was excellent from start to finish. Her recommendations were on point with food and drink. It was a great birthday celebration for my daughter. Thank you all staff at Nonna.

The best place for a date night! Server was awesome, food was incredible, wine was fantastic. Even got complimentary champagne for our anniversary.

Everything from cocktails and appetizers to the entrees were delicious. Service was prompt, helpful and made sure our first visit to Nonna Osteria was a great one. We unfortunately were 20 min late to our reservation (they have a 15 min. grace period) but once we called they were willing to find a close time to change our reservation on a busy and booked Saturday night. We will definitely keep Nonna on our roster of restaurants to return to.

Honestly, this probably my fifth time dining here and it is terrific. Service is on point and well executed, cocktails and food outstanding! However, I would definitely choose this location over the one on 1604 which is not even close to the quality of the downtown restaurant.
