Nobu Downtown is located in the heart of Manhattan’s Financial District designed by NYC’s celebrated architect, David Rockwell. On the ground level, guests can enjoy open air-like experience in our Broadway dining room or Bar & Lounge dining framed by 30 foot heroic limestone columns. Our sub terrain dining room provides intimate ambience with sushi bar and private dining options. Indulge in Chef Nobu’s famous signature dishes including Rock Shrimp Tempura and Black Cod Miso as well as traditional Japanese favorites and sushi.

Tasty but grossly overpriced. $32 for one uni hand roll it’s just insulting. The service was good but not great and the sushi was actually the least impressive part of the meal. Extremely ordinary, with cold overcooked rice. The hot dishes were delicious and memorable and for which we would return. One of the desserts was outstanding, the others entirely mediocre.

All the wait staff at Nobu Downtown was so attentive, and so was the hostess. We kept on asking one of the wait staff to take pictures of us, and he graciously did a marvelous job in capturing our joy! The food was artfully put together, and it was so fresh. The price point was understandably on the high side ($56 for a sashimi lunch with rice and soup), but only the most prized ingredients, including toro and scallop, were presented. Fortunately my relative had the foresight to send us a rather hefty gift certificate so that we could enjoy. Ambience was nice. The Friday lunch crowd started coming in around 1pm, so we got to enjoy some quiet moments with our noon reservation. Bravo!

The flavors in all their dishes are just amazing. The yellow tail with jalapeño is so flavorful. Their Miso Cod is simply mouth watering delicious. Great drinks, excellent service and an elegant ambiance. Never disappoints!

Our first time there, we booked a place a few days before arrival, we wanted a place at the bar. When we arrived the hostess claimed that it was not possible to order at the bar and seated us at a table, she said that if there is a space at the bar just run and grab it.... After we sat down at the bar we ordered two glasses of wine and from that moment on the bartender only cared about how we would pay, we waited about twenty minutes until a menu was offered, we ordered 2 types of sushi and mushroom salad. Let's just say we've had better sushi and salad. We paid and were about to leave when we suddenly discovered that there is a lower floor with a nicer atmosphere and a more impressive sushi bar, we didn't understand why they didn't show us the place. disappointment.

If you crave an outstanding Japanese dinner with excellent service and want to surround yourself with celebrities and other vibrant patrons, run to Nobu. Their ability to continually reinvent themselves never ceases to amaze me. Simply one of New York's finest all-around dining experiences.

The maki rolls were very good and the black cod with miso was outstanding (melted in your mouth). Our waiter was very good and attentive. At no time did we ever feel rushed (this was on a Friday night). Is restaurant overpriced? Yes, but this is NYC and you’re paying for the name and their overhead is probably insane.
