Nobu Downtown is located in the heart of Manhattan’s Financial District designed by NYC’s celebrated architect, David Rockwell. On the ground level, guests can enjoy open air-like experience in our Broadway dining room or Bar & Lounge dining framed by 30 foot heroic limestone columns. Our sub terrain dining room provides intimate ambience with sushi bar and private dining options. Indulge in Chef Nobu’s famous signature dishes including Rock Shrimp Tempura and Black Cod Miso as well as traditional Japanese favorites and sushi.

The whole experience was outstanding. We got late, party of 5, due to bad traffic but they were accommodating and seated us immediately. The staff were outstanding and helped us with menu selection and pace of how the dishes arrived were perfect. We tried multiple dishes including raw fish, steaks, sushi and desserts. It is uncommon to see all the dishes done to perfection. The noise level was easy to hold conversation and space between the tables was more than adequate. I specially want to compliment our waiter for his professionalism. This is the second time I have been there and I can say with the help of our waiter we chose our menu selection perfectly.

I was disappointed this time at Nobu. We chose to sit in the Lounge as the space has soaring architecture and historic significance. But we were seated in a weird corner table next to a cheesy screen hiding the computer ordering system and by the windows and it was cold. The staff was barely attentive, took an order for drinks and then did not return for ages. While the staff person was knowledgeable about the menu and recommended some good things, it was loud and hard to hear her. The food came out randomly with no logic whatsoever. Our friend had ordered a sake which was served in a nice wine glass and contained a normal wine glass amount. When I ordered my sake, it came with literally 1/2 the amount of wine(?) Overall, the experience was very weird. I felt like I was in an Applebees. It was expensive and honestly not fun or worth it in anyway. I was totally disappointed and will not go back.

It was a memorable night. The first time I went to Nobu was in Tribeca 30 years ago and I love the food after that I was only going on the 57th St. and yesterday we decided to know the new one and I got really amazed with the decoration they space and everything Will be back again.

It was an anniversary treat. Omakase was well deserved by us both….she’s worth it!

Tasty but grossly overpriced. $32 for one uni hand roll it’s just insulting. The service was good but not great and the sushi was actually the least impressive part of the meal. Extremely ordinary, with cold overcooked rice. The hot dishes were delicious and memorable and for which we would return. One of the desserts was outstanding, the others entirely mediocre.

All the wait staff at Nobu Downtown was so attentive, and so was the hostess. We kept on asking one of the wait staff to take pictures of us, and he graciously did a marvelous job in capturing our joy! The food was artfully put together, and it was so fresh. The price point was understandably on the high side ($56 for a sashimi lunch with rice and soup), but only the most prized ingredients, including toro and scallop, were presented. Fortunately my relative had the foresight to send us a rather hefty gift certificate so that we could enjoy. Ambience was nice. The Friday lunch crowd started coming in around 1pm, so we got to enjoy some quiet moments with our noon reservation. Bravo!
