Had a lovely anniversary meal with excellent food and impeccable service. The Northern Irish oysters were a real treat and coq au vin succulent with delicious greens. Atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. This has become our definite favourite restaurant in Oxford where everything is just right!

A very pleasant environment, not too noisy on the first floor. Excellent food and service, and excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful meal with friends on Friday night. Would highly recommend- particularly the scallops- which we all agreed were the best we have ever tasted! We will be back.

I've never had a bad meal at No. 1 Ship Street. Their fish and seafood dishes are always outstanding.

I met with two friends for lunch and the whole experience was outstanding. Our waitress, Christine, was delightful and deserves a personal commendation for her charm and attentiveness. The ambience was most pleasant and I would recommend the restaurant to anybody looking for a great dining experience.

Nice ambiance with helpful staff. However, for the price and rating, the food is lacking a notch or two. We ordered the plaice. It was very well portioned, but the sauce was not the best compliment to this type of fish. By the end of the meal, we were craving for something salty. The burger was good. We ordered it without the bacon but the meat still had hints of bacon flavor. I only assume the kitchen prepared it the usual way then realized the special request and simply removed the bacon instead of preparing a new one properly. All in all, not a terrible experience, but at this price point, one expects to be closer to perfection than this.
