Welcome to the No.1 Bar & Bistro. Located within the Queens Hotel, one of the city’s largest independent hotels, in the bustling heart of Brighton seafront, we are the ideal place to enjoy a relaxed afternoon or evening with cocktails, a nice wine, good food, great views and even better company.
Chef Harvi and his team have designed a new all day dining menu for the Autumn/ Winter period showcasing the a fresh and tasty new look.
We are proud to say that we offer a vegan menu running alongside our all day dining menu. We firmly believe Veganuary should be for the whole year and not just in January and give you all the freedom to choose.
Enjoy our sumptuous Afternoon Tea with prosecco in our newly refurbished Sun Lounge. Homemade scones and sweet treats overlooking the sea? Yes please!

Our kitchen offers a whole array of menus to fit all occasions. Breakfast has an amazing selection traditional items and fruits, meats and cheeses. The Lunch menu has a variety of sandwiches and other bites. Afternoon Tea offers homemade scones served with sweet treats. Our vegan menu runs alongside the evening menu and offers exciting choices.

Afternoon Tea was possibly seen at the Queens Hotel shortly after the Duchess of Bedford first introduced it in 1840 to give herself an afternoon 'boost'. We think it was to give herself an Afternoon Tea MEMORY. Afternoon Tea MEMORIES at the Queens Hotel possibly included ABBA in 1974 who may have popped in a few hours before winning Eurovision at the nearby Brighton Dome. Maybe, in 2002, we served at least a quarter of the 250,000 people enjoying Fatboy Slims' Big Beach Boutique 2 on that hot and sultry July afternoon. Maybe these memories didn't happen but we invite you to add your own memories to the history of the Afternoon Tea at the Queens Hotel. Enjoy your Afternoon Tea in our Sun Lounge while enjoying the fabulous view!

Service was lovely. Menu is very small. Starters come out and went back as was cold. My burger and chips was nice. McDonald’s quality at overpriced prices. My partners main course the prawn linguine was oily and tasteless. Not at all worth the price tag. Such a shame as I would stay at the hotel again but would definitely not eat in the restaurant. £2.50 for a packet of crisps too. Absolutely disgusting. Spoke to the table next to us and they thought the same about the food. It was my sons 7th birthday so didn’t want to complain and make it awkward.

Had an amazing Afternoon Tea here. The amount of delicious food you got for the price was incredible! The staff were super friendly and attentive and the views of the Pier and ocean while I had tea were lovely!

We enjoyed our meal here, the food was very good and the service was excellent. We were offered a seat in another room to the bar which was very quiet and made the evening feel a little more special.

The menu covers a variety of tastes. I chose the chicken wings to start, followed by sirloin steak then salted caramel cheesecake. All were well-presented and tasty. The service was excellent; attentive but not intrusive. I would happily eat there again.

Although the fare test we enjoyed was quite good and the staff were very friendly, the reason that we chose to eat at The Queens Hotel Bistro is that their website boasts and displays a specific vegan menu. This (we were told upon arrival) was no longer available and the website was out of date. We’ll UPDATE IT - it is still showing on your website!

Found this as we were staying in the hotel. Booked the day before and everything was ready for us for 1oclock and we were shown into the lounge off the lobby by Georgina who was so friendly. Tasty sandwiches, lovely scone and delicious cakes. Plenty of food - we even took some home with us. All in all a great, value afternoon tea :-)

Food was excellent, although took about an hour to receive. Service was lovely. Table was sticky, I think they put the wrong finish on it. It was a lot quieter than the beachside restaurants which was perfect since we had our parents visiting.
