Nirmal’s is the culmination of over 30 years of culinary experience of Chef Nirmal Monteiro, our five-star chef. His lifelong dream is realized in this restaurant, showcasing his talents and inspired by great traditions of Indian food, yet re-imagined with the influences of his global culinary journey.

Chef Nirmal combines fresh local ingredients from the Pacific Northwest with traditional ingredients and spices from across India. The tastes are at once familiar, yet new and exciting. Prepare for a dining experience with diversity and subtlety of flavors not available in any other Indian restaurant!

Service was excellent. They bill themselves as reimagined Indian food but I got an average curry that you can find in any English\Irish pub across Europe. Overrated.

Highly recommend Nirmal's for wonderful Indian food. It's one of the many new restaurants in the dramatically refreshed Pioneer Square. The only issue we encountered is that Nirmal's had no record of our Open Table reservation and said they did not use this service. None the l was, thge graciously accommodated out party if 6.

Overall I almost prefer the lunchtime tali to the dinners. The dinner dishes have no sides so you have to fill in for the table which is fine but I think the main dish sizes should probably be reduced a bit to leave room for more side dishes. Pork Vindaloo remains one of the best versions I've ever had though I do wish the service could fill me in on sourcing for the meats. Palak Paneer not the best I've had as the spinach was pureed to the point of no texture. We tried only the vegetable biryani which was very good. Since biryani's are so distinctive per region I will return to try the goat. Staff are pleasant. Drink choices quite good as well.

The food was great and the service was spectacular. Cordial and professional but fun and not stuffy. Food had a nice variety of flavors and did not disappoint

WOW!!! We have found a new favorite - absolutely LOVED this place - we loved that Nirmal's didn't have the standard Indian restaurant menu - dialed in food - the menu is small and very special - and it changes in order to expose diners to a variety food of Indian cuisine from various regions - from beginning to end the tastes were fantastic - and I am a firm believer that when someone truly loves to cook, you can taste the love and the passion with each bite - have only experienced this a few times - and we experienced this at Nirmal's - the owner came to our table and actually sat and had a great conversation with us about this lovely find among other things - you will feel like you have been welcomed into one's home at this place, given a delicious home-cooked meal, and you will leave thinking "I can't wait to come back and try the next menu"

We had a great dinner. Love the food and Mariah, our server, was fabulous. A bit distressed that the restaurant rating was just OK by the health department. Hope they can improve on that. Then I can give all 5's!

We found the food a little lackluster, but 'okay'. Service was slow, probably due to training new staff. Ambiance was great.

Amazing food and lovely ambience. We all ordered different options, and everything was delicious. The crab was out of this world.

The paneer makhani we ordered was way too thin in consistency and not creamy. The flavors were too simple and it tasted just like tomato paste and water with a little Garam masala. Very disappointed given all the hype and awards around this place. We did tell the owner/chef about it and he added more spices for us, which made it eatable. But overall, very disappointed
